Gators Roam The Swamp and Donner Meet

The Gators had an action packed weekend. First, we held our developmental IntraSwamp meeting Thursday. Our younger swimmers did not disappoint as they tore up the pool! This was an unofficial meet, but served as a great practice meet for our upcoming Dual Meet Series the remainder of the summer. Our next meet in this series is this coming Friday, June 10, at Greenwood versus Avon Community Swim Team. Then the Gators were back in the pool at the Jamie Miller Donner Invitational over the weekend. We saw some really fast swims, with some new championship cuts, and even a few new team records! Highlights include:

• Annie Chrisman - 37th in Girls 11-12 200 Freestyle

• Drew Lecher - 40th in Boys 11-12 50 Freestyle

• Emme Lewallen - 36th in Girls 11-12 200 Freestyle

• Jacob McCoy - 1st in Boys 7-8 200 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly, both of which were new Gator team records! Jacob was also 1st place overall High Point for 7-8 boys!

• Nick McCoy - 3rd in Boys 11-12 50 Breaststroke. Nick also achieved 2 new State Championship cuts in 200 IM and 400 Freestyle!

• Maria Mears - 31st in Girls 13-14 100 Backstroke, and a new Divisional Championship cut on the 50 Freestyle!

• Adrian Monroe - 35th in Girls 11-12 200 Freestyle

• Lila Phillips - 15th in Girls 9-10 200 IM

• Logan Robinson - 19th in Boys 9-10 200 Freestyle

• Joe Sheets - 3rd in Boys Open 200 Breaststroke

• Reagan Sullivan - 20th in Girls 9-10 50 Freestyle, good for a new Divisional Championship cut!

• Ben Wehnert - 15th in Boys Open 100 Breaststroke

• Zach Wehnert - 12th in Boys 13-14 50 Backstroke, and a new Divisional Championship cut in the 100 Freestyle!

• Lucas Young - 4th in Boys Open 50 Breast, and a new Divisional Championship cut in the 50 Freestyle!

Great job to all the swimmers, especially to our new members of the Gator Championship Team! Thanks also to the Gator coaches for the LONG hours out in the hot sun all weekend long!

***Save the date!*** -  We are planning a combination Dual Meet Series/Long Course Season wrap up party at Freedom Springs Sunday July 10. We will be renting out all of Freedom Springs, along with Plainfield, Brownsburg, and Avon swim teams for the evening. All Gator families are welcome to join the fun! More details to come.
