Gators Chomp the Competition at Dual Meet Championship and Enchanted Forest
Oh my, what a summer season we’re having! The Gators have continued their strong summer performances through a few new meets these past couple of weeks. First, we wrapped up our Development Summer Dual Meet Series with the Championship Meet between Gators, Plainfield, Avon, and Brownsburg at Plainfield HS. Our young swimmers showed tremendous improvement throughout this meet series, and they put that improvement on full display at the Championship with some amazing performances. Thanks so much to all our coaches for arranging this meet series, and their support and coaching throughout. Highlights are below.
- Vincent Barnett – 4th in Boys 8 and under 25 Back with 4 lifetime bests(LTBs)
- David Brenton – 1st in all four Boys 13-14 event with 3 LTBs
- Rayna Brenton – 6th in Girls 8 and under 25 Free with 2 LTBs
- Annie Chrisman – 1st in two Girls 13-14 events with 3 LTBs
- Marshall Jackson – 1st in Boys 8 and under 25 Breast with 2 LTBs
- Emme Lewallen – 5th in Girls 11-12 50 Breast with 4 LTBs
- Jacob McCoy – 1st in 10 and under 100 IM with 3 LTBs
- Cecilia Mears – 2nd in Girls 10 and under 50 Fly with 3 LTBs
- Maria Mears – 1st in three Girls 13-14 events with one LTB
- Adrian Monroe – 3rd in Girls 11-12 100 Free with 4 LTBs
- Lila Phillips – 1st in Girls 11-12 100 IM with 4 LTBs
- Lucas Phillips – 3rd in Boys 10 and under 100 Back with 3 LTBs
- Eleanor Reese – 4th in in Girls 10 and under 50 Breast with 4 LTBs
- Logan Robinson – 2nd in Boys 10 and under 50 Fly with 3 LTBs
- Oscar Sahm – 2nd in two Boys 13-14 events
- Vivian Sahm – 2nd in Girls 100 Back with 4 LTBs
- Hadleigh Sawyer – 8th in Girls 11-12 100 Free with 4 LTBs
- Graham Vandeventer – 2nd in Boys 10 and under 100 Back with one LTB
Then this past weekend the Gators travelled north to Noblesville to compete in the Enchanted Forest meet. This meet is one of the biggest and fastest meets in which we compete with most events having near or well over 100 swimmers. But our athletes made their presence known with some phenomenal swims. As we find ourselves rolling into Championship season, we saw several new Championship cuts and lots of time improvements. Thanks to our coaches for spending very long hours in the hot sun this weekend! Highlights from the meet are below.
- David Brenton – 52nd in Boys 13-14 200 IM with 5 LTBs
- Rayna Brenton – 33rd in Girls 8 and under 100 Free in a LTB
- Cooper Cridlin – 39th in Boys 11-12 50 Breast with 7 LTBs
- Emmanuel Jackson – 4th in Boys 13-14 100 Breast with 2 LTBs and 2 new State Championship Cuts in the 200 Free and 100 Fly
- Marshall Jackson – 16th in Boys 8 and under 50 Free with 2 LTBs
- Jacob McCoy – 5th in Boys 8 and under 100 Fly with 5 LTBs and 2 new Divisional Championship Cuts in the 50 and 100 Back
- Nick McCoy – 2nd in Boys 11-12 100 Breast with 5 LTBs and 2 new State Championship Cuts in the 50 and 100 Free
- Lila Phillips – 70th in Girls 11-12 100 Back with 5 LTBs and 2 new Divisional Championship Cuts in the 50 and 100 Free
- Moses Weaver – 7th in Boys 13-14 200 Back with 3 LTBs and a new State Championship Cut in the 100 Free
- Naomi Weaver – 3rd in Girls Open 200 Fly
- Ben Wehnert – 17th in Boys Open 1500 Free with 5 LTBs and new Divisional Championship Cuts in 400 Free, 1500 Free, 100 Breast, and 100 Free
- Zach Wehnert – 49th in Boys 13-14 200 IM with 2 LTBs

We are now entering the end of the LCM Season and the season of Championship Meets. Please mind the calendar and update emails for current practice schedules. The pool at GHS will be getting a fresh coat of paint starting the week of July 17th so we will be out of the HS pool for the remainder of the season after this week. For those that have achieved Championship Cuts, please sign up for the respective meets by the posted deadlines. Championship T-shirts are available on the Gators Elsmore Swim Shop page, with varying order deadlines depending on which meet you’re swimming in. Please see the Elsmore link below for details. As we wrap up the LCM season by the end of July, we hope to see all of you back for the SCY season in the fall. We will be doing some practices for returning swimmers in mid-late August, with the full SCY season beginning early September. Registration will open mid August, with more specific details to come soon.
