Gators Flex Their Muscles At Indiana Swimming Divisional Championships

The Gators showed up with all their might at the 2023 Indiana Swimming Southeast Divisional Championships at Center Grove this past weekend! We had a strong group of swimmers qualify for the meet and they did not disappoint with many lifetime best swims and podium finishes. I’m so proud of how our Gators kicked off our 2023 Championship season! See below for a list of highlights.

  • David Brenton – 16th in Boys 14&under 200 Back with 2 LTBs
  • Aberdeen Couturier – 3 podium finishes in Girls 12&under with 5th in 50 Free, 2nd in 100 Free, and 1st in 100 Breast, including 4 LTBs and a new team record in the Girls 11-12 200 Breast!
  • Bailey DeSantis – 28th in Girls 10&under 100 Back
  • Cameron Eadler – 39th in Girls 10&under 50 Back
  • Eleanor Guipe – A podium 2nd place finish in Girls Open 200 Breast with 2 LTBs
  • Griffin Kroll – A podium 7th place finish in Boys 14&under 100 Free with 4 LTBs
  • Kamryn Kroll – A podium 3rd place finish in Girls 12&under 100 Fly with 5 LTBs
  • Jacob McCoy – 13th in Boys 10&under 200 Free with 3 LTBs
  • Nick McCoy – 5 podium finishes in Boys 14&under with 6th in 100 Free, 6th in 500 Free, 5th in 50 Free, 4th in 200 IM, and 3rd in 400 IM, including 4 LTBs and a new State cut in the 200 IM!
  • Lila Phillips – 10th in Girls 12&under 500 Free with 4 LTBs
  • Lucas Phillips – 2 15th pace finishes in Boys 10&under 50 and 200 Free with 4 LTBs
  • Ethan Rose – 11th in Boys Open 100 Back with 3 LTBs
  • Reagan Sullivan – 3 podium finishes in Girls 10&under with 8th in 50 Free, 5th in 100 Free, 5th in 200 Free with 6 LTBs
  • Elyza Tschopp – 4 podium finishes in Girls 12&under with 5th in 500 Free, 5th in 200 IM, 3rd in 50 Back, and 1st in 100 Back, including 6 LTBs and new State cuts in 50 and 100 Back!
  • Our Girls 11-12 200 Free Relay team of Phillips, Couturier, Kroll, and Tschopp placed 4th!
  • Our Girls 11-12 200 Medley Relay team of Tschopp, Couturier, Kroll, Phillips placed 2nd!
  • Our Boys 13-14 swimmers individually dropped enough time to qualify for the 400 Free Relay at State! The team consists of Brenton, Jackson, Kroll, McCoy.

Great job to all our Gator swimmers! And thanks to our amazing coaches, Abbi, Brooke, Diego, Lucas, and Luke for all their hard work all weekend long!

A few reminders

  • All swimmers may continue to practice through March 16. The practice calendar is updated through the end of the season.
  • We are putting the finals touches on summer long course registration and that should be posted in the next week or so.
  • You will also see details about an end of season party coming soon as well.
  • If you haven’t already, please fill out our parent questionnaire to let us know how we’re doing

  • IN Swimming Age Group State Championships (minimum time standards required) – IUPUI Natatorium – Mar 17-19 *Signups still open for those qualifying at Divisionals*
  • Short Course Seasons Party – Friday April 21, more details to come soon
  • Returning swimmers return for Long Course Season – April 18
  • Full Long Course Season begins – May 1
