The Gators Are Feisty At FRST, NOB, Devel Meets

Wow what a month June was for the Gators! Many of our athletes got to witness the best swimmers in the world compete at the USA Swimming Olympic Trials at Lucas Oil Stadium. Our high school athletes took a fun filled, team building trip to Holiday World. Then we continued our development Summer Splash meet series with PCA, BBSC, ACST with 2 additional dual meets and the championship meet. Our young swimmers showed how much they have improved this summer with some fantastic swims. Finally the Gators competed in back to back weekends at FRST and NOB in our first taste of prelim/finals format of the summer. Up against some stiff competition, the Gators didn’t back down, throwing down many lifetime best swims, new championship cuts, and even 2 new Gator team records by Lucas Stephon! It was a great way to head into the last month of the summer season as we set our eyes on July’s championship meets. Highlights from the meets are below.

A few important notes and reminders

• End of Long Course Season Info - The practice schedule is up to date through the end of the season, with the last practices for all groups scheduled for Thursday July 25. After the Divisional Championship meet that weekend, we will take a break until short course season kicks off in September. More details about short course season will be coming soon.
• Team Pool Party – Gators have rented out the Franklin Family Aquatic Center for a team pool party Friday August 16 from 6-8pm. This will be a great opportunity for our entire team and their families to get together, celebrate the team’s success, and just have fun! More details to come as we get closer but mark your calendars to ensure you can join us.
• Leadership Council - This exciting program is continuing into the summer, helping our athletes of all ages with important skills surrounding leadership, mental health, sportsmanship, and goal setting. Please talk to Coach Abbi or Coach Sarah for details on this exciting new program!
