Gators Close LCM Season With Big Swims At Stars & Stripes, Divisionals and Zone Championships

Gator President

The summer long course season has come to a close, but not before the Gators ripped of so many amazing swims and brought home a load of hardware at our July meets. First our 12 & Under swimmers had one last regular season meet at the CGAC Stars and Stripes. So many swimmers showed off their tremendous improvement this season. Then we sent our squad to the IN Swimming SE Divisional Championship where we saw some blazing speed, loads of podium finishes to earn medals, and several new Gator team records! Finally Elyza Tschopp earned a spot on Team Indiana to compete against other all star teams from other states at the US Central Zone Championship Meet in Fargo, ND. What an amazing way to finish out the season by all our swimmers. Highlights from the meets are below.

  • Team Pool Party – Gators have rented out the Franklin Family Aquatic Center for a team pool party Friday August 16 from 6-8pm. This will be a great opportunity for our entire team and their families to get together, celebrate the team’s success, and just have fun! More details to come as we get closer but mark your calendars to ensure you can join us.
  • Triathlon Fundraiser – Gators will once again be hosting the annual Kids Tri For Kids Triathlon at Freedom Springs the morning of Aug 25. This is a great competition option for our younger athletes where they get to swim in the Freedom Springs lazy river! This is also a fundraiser for Gators and we must have several parent and older athlete volunteers to put on the event. Signup your kids to Compete HERE. Signup to Volunteer HERE.
  • Gator Team Photo Share – We’re trying out a Google Photo Share for the team so we can share all the great pics of our swimmers throughout the seasons. I’m still trying to work things out but it looks like its up and running anyway. I believe its setup so others can add to it as we go. Please let me know if you have any questions.
  • Leadership Council - This exciting program is continuing into the summer, helping our athletes of all ages with important skills surrounding leadership, mental health, sportsmanship, and goal setting. Please talk to Coach Abbi or Coach Sarah for details on this exciting new program!
