Hello Shark families,  

Please take a minute to read through the following announcements.  

 

 

Sharks Pentathlon Meet recap:  

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! To all of our amazing families who participated in this meet! From a competitive end, we’ve started a baseline for athletes to drop from, and seen some great improvements sicne the last time we swum short course. From a volunteer standpoint, we’ve added 1 more opportunity toward getting to our goal of becoming self-sufficient at running meets.  

 

Meet results can be found on the meet mobile app. We are having some issues with results showing under the account portion of our website, however they are showing up for meet entries. We are looking into this.  

 

 

Updated SC schedule – event pages created and emailed yesterday 

 

Nov 11 – Bulls and Reefs at CCSC (St. Martins) 

Nov 11&12 – Leopards, Tigers, Makos, Blue at Crawfish Aquatics 

We will be splitting up this weekend in order to best serve each of our groups in more focused and concentrated meets. If you have swimmers in both meets and cannot be in 2 places at once (I completely understand), let me know and we’ll figure out a solution – it's a good problem to have for each of us and easily solveable with proper planning in advance.  

 

 

 

Ashley Graves to visit Elmwood Sharks! 

 

Ashley Graves is a former coach with Bolles School Sharks & Swim Team in Jacksonville, FL and currently runs the swim blog Streamline Teams – a site connecting coaches to coaches. She will be visiting Mon and/or Tues, Oct 16-17 and working with athletes on deck in a practice/clinic type setting. A more detailed schedule will be announced as we get closer.  

 

 

 

Housekeeping – some items to note and announcements from OFC staff – please adhere to these policies and treat OFC as if we’re guests.  

  1. 1) NO parking in the handicap spot outside OPT, even if it’s just for pickup 

  1. 2) In the event of inclement weather, please contact coach Beau, not the facility – they're just going to contact me. The best way to get messages is to update and verify your email and cell phone on our website.  

  2. 3) Our incliment weather practices may slightly change - we will not have access to Michaels starting next week due to renovations by OFC.

 

 

 

Thank you all once again for your continued outstanding support! Our first full month with our new programming chart, new non-competitive groups, hosting a meet, and integrating our new members has gone very well.
