Q: Which show is my dancer in?

A: As of now, we will be breaking our Recital into 4 shows. If you have multiple dancers, please know that we did our best to split the shows in a way that puts your dancers in the same show. However, it was not possible for everyone.

Show 1 -Tiny Tots A & B, Tots A, B, and C

Show 2 - Kinder Boppers, Miraculous Movers B, and Groovy Guys(8 & up group).

Show 3 -Miraculous Movers A, Mighty Mini's, Groovy Guys(K-2nd group).

Show 4- Dynamic Dancers, Showstoppers, and Groovy Guys(8 & up group)

  • Students in Showstoppers Contemporary Dance will be in the Opening number and will need to perform that dance in every show.
  • Groovy Guys(8 and up) will perform in 2 shows. Listed above.
  • Company Dances will perform in multiple shows. Details will be sent to company members.

Q: How do I get tickets?

A: Recital tickets: Each family will receive 2 complimentary tickets to the recital. Families with children in 2 shows will receive 2 tickets to each show their dancers are in. Anyone over the age of 3 will need a ticket to attend the recital. Dancers will not be able to sit in the audience unless they have a ticket. You may purchase additional tickets for friends and family through the online portal unders >News then > Recital Ticket Order form.

All tickets purchased will be held in the office and given out with your recital packet the week of rehearsals. Tickets cannot be reserved until payment is received.

*tickets are general admission and seating is on a first come first served basis*

* VIP Booth tickets are available until sold out*

Q: What are the hair and makeup requirements for dress rehearsal and recital day?

A: HAIR: See Females hairstyle below. Boys will simply wear their hair slicked back and out of the face.

  • Low braided bun with  middle  part. I have included a photo on page 3 of the Picture Day Schedule attachment, to give you a better idea of how this hairstyle should look, please visit the recital page for a picture.
  • For this hairstyle, you will need to:
  • Part hair straight down the middle
  • Apply product, such as mousse/hairspray to give it a sleeker look
  • Pull back each side into a low ponytail in the back of the head
  • Braid ponytail(not required, this step is just helpful for students with thick hair)
  • Wrap ponytail into a bun and secure with bobby pins

Hairstyle for girls for picture day and recial.

MAKEUP:

  • Will be done using a neutral eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner (older girls), foundation and blush as needed, and the lip color will need to be the NYX lip cream in color Rome.

Q: What stockings does my dancer need?

A: All dancers(with the exception of acro and hip-hop only students) will be required to wear stockings with their costumes for picture day and recital. You will need to purchase the Light Tan or Tan for darker skin tights from Bloch. You can purchase these at Ultimate on Verot and they will make sure you get the right stockings.

Q: How will I know important dates and times coming up as we get closer to recital?

A: For convenience, our primary means of communication is via email and the gomotionapp. You will receive regular newsletters and important information via email so please ensure you have provided the studio with an up-to-date email address that is regularly checked. We are of course happy to include multiple email addresses per family if you would like your correspondence sent to numerous recipients. Don’t forget to add our email address [email protected] to your contacts so we don’t end up in the dreaded Spam folder! We also always display important information, dates and studio details on our Announcements wall in lobby so please have a quick look when dropping off and picking up in case there is anything you may have missed.

Q: Are there any important dates that I should be expecting as we get closer to recital?

A: We understand wholeheartedly how busy the lives and schedules of our dance families can get as the year rolls on, so we have tried to get all of our important dates organized and ready for you so you can plan other commitments. Below we have listed some of our most important “Save the Dates” with more information (including times, costumes, requirements, etc.) to be communicated via email as we get closer to the events. If you know ahead of time that your family will be unable to attend these events due to planned holidays or existing commitments, please let us know at your earliest convenience as some of these are mandatory.
