Coach Anthony's Bio
Coach Anthony Addlesberger has almost 20 years of coaching experience. Before joining the Chargers in May of 2022, he was with the York YMCA (2022), Phoenixville YMCA (2018-2021), North Carolina Aquatic Club (2017-2018), and the Chambersburg Chargers (2007-2017). Addlesberger’s teams have seen rapid growth and improvement at each stop along the way.
With Chambersburg, from 2007-2017, Addlesberger cultivated a team that team produced two YMCA Long Course National champions, the first in the 60+ year history of the program. In North Carolina, his swimmers posted multiple USA Swimming All-Time Top 100 Times, North Carolina Swimming LSC Records, and # 1 overall times in the country. In Phoenixville, the team achieved USA Swimming’s Club Excellence Bronze Medal Status, a program first, produced several USA Swimming Long Course Senior and Junior/National qualifiers, and finished 2nd in the 2021 14 & Under PA YMCA Regional Championships.
Addlesberger is proud of all of his teams’ and swimmers’ accomplishments, and especially proud of what the Chargers have accomplished in the past two seasons . Last season, the team had its highest finishes ever at every major championship meet, and finished the 2024 Long Course season ranked first in the country in USA Swimming's Virtual Club Championship for teams with fewer than 50 USA swimmers, and first in the Mid Atlantic LSC of teams with fewer than 100 USA swimmers.
Addlesberger graduated Cum Laude from Messiah College in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. He was a member of the first ever swim-team in school history. Addlesberger also competed for Duquesne University from 2003-2005, and spent two years doing missions work from 2005-2006, working in Thailand, St. Croix, and England; before moving back to Chambersburg to begin coaching and finish his degree at Messiah. He grew up swimming for the Chargers as an age grouper, and is highly invested in his team's and swimmers' success!
Coach Anthony's favorite swim coaching memories:
2024 YMCA Long Course Nationals - We came out strong on day one, securing several A and B finals swims, team records, and lifetime bests. Prelims of day two were just as good, with several more A and B final swims and large time drops. We hit a completely different gear in finals on day two. We had time drop after time drop , and massive swim after massive swim. Swimmer after swimmer stepped up to the podium to receive their awards. We kept the intensity up the rest of the meet, and ended up scoring 271 points, a 238-point improvement on our best team score at a YMCA National Championship. It was an exhilirating five days of our swimmers pouring everything they had into their races - morning and evening - for five days straight - race after race. Being part of a team that gives championship effort consistently, and has put in the work to back it up, is so much fun, and incredibly rewarding.
Finishing 6th at the YMCA PA State Championships with Chambersburg in 2023 , and 5th in 2024, after having placed 28th in 2022 . To see our swimmers get to such a high level of focus mentally/and showcase their work and talent in such an epic fashion both years - was surreal. To do it two years in a row with a different core group of swimmers was incredible.
The feeling of satisfaction, pride, and excitement I had after these meets will stay with me forever – I’ll always remember them as key points where we took a massive leap forward from our previous performances, showcasing the commitment of our families and thousands of hours of deliberate practice our swimmers and coaches had put in. And we had so much fun doing it!
Coach Anthony's favorite non-swimming related activity:
Spending time with my wife and five children. We have such a tight-knit, neat group – having five children in seven years has been a wild and exciting ride. We are fortunate to be able to homeschool our kids – in addition to the actual schooling, we get extra time to work on sports and other fitness related activities, so they get extra doses of “Coach Dad” throughout the week. Golf, soccer, and swimming are our three favorite sports, in no particular order ; although I’ve found golf to be a great activity to quench my competitive drive and spend time working with my kids.

Coach Amanda’s Favorite Swim Coaching Memories:
Winning the 9-10 boys 200 free relay and 9-10 boys team title at YMCA States in 2013. In that moment, it was so special to see all of their hard work and dedication pay off, and it made it all worth it, as it was not easy!
Having the Charger team be such a personal part of our lives for so many years, with so many special relationships we've built and cultivated over the years.
Coach Amanda’s Favorite Non-Swimming Related Activity:
Going on adventures with the family. My husband likes to hop in the car, drive, and figure it out from there - we call them "Daddy Adventures". They are always an unexpectedly good time. They nine times out of ten push me outside of my comfort zone, but in a good way! We'll go hiking at different places in the woods or mountains, find a place to take the kids for a bike ride, explore different parts of the surrounding area and find new things to do, and find new favorite spots to eat and let the kids run and play.

Coach Hali Cormany is now in her seventh year as a coach for the Chambersburg Chargers. Hali is also a former Charger swimmer. Hali graduated from Shippensburg University in 2013 with a degree in Business with a Finance concentration.
Hali started swimming when she was 10 years old for Mercersburg Area Swim Club. In her senior year, after competing for MASC for 7 seasons, she decided to join the Chambersburg YMCA Chargers. In High School swimming, Hali competed for James Buchanan, where she made districts in multiple relays, as well as the 100 Breaststroke, 200 IM, and 200 Freestyle. Hali had an outstanding career at James Buchanan, finishing as high as 2nd at the AA MidPenn Championships, and 6th at the AA District III Championships in the 100 Breaststroke.
Outside of the pool, Hali loves to hang out with my friends and family. Her favorite season is the summer because she loves working and being outside, as well as being a counselor at St. John Camp.
Over the past six seasons, Coach Hali has done an excellent job of teaching correct technique and also providing an atmosphere conducive to learning and having fun. Hali's consistent demeanor and teaching style have led to steady time drops for her swimmers at every meet over the course of each of the past three seasons.
Hali is very excited for what this season has in store! Her advice to the kids: Practice hard and swim fast!
