Meet Maryland Swimming’s New Open Water Chair
FRED HVIID
“I have the enthusiasm and optimism to get our swimmers excited about open water swimming”
Fred and former MDSI Open Water Chair, Chris Swensen plan on having several open water clinics this summer followed by 2-3 sanctioned time trial meets. They want every MDSI swimmer to try open water swimming at least once! He believes Open Water swimming opens new doors for the swimmer away from the pool: “exploration and adventure of the body and soul.”
Fred’s goal is to have MD swimmers compete in Open Water Meets all across the country, instead of just in one local meet.
