NON-ATHLETE REGISTRATION

REGISTRATION 

  • 2026 USA Swimming Registration opens 9/1/2025

  • For those attached to a club, please contact your club for USA Swimming Registration instructions

  • For those UNATTACHED to a club, please contact the MDSI Office at [email protected]

TRANSFER

ATHLETE MEMBER TYPES

  • Coach

    • Must be 18 years of age or older

    • Must complete all requirements on the Coach Memberships resource page 

    • Valid from the date of registration through December 31st of the registration year  

    • Must be in good standing for all practices, competitions and club activities

  • Provisional Coach

    • For new coach members or coaches with at least one year lapse in previous coach membership

    • Limited to a three-year calendar period

    • Must be 18 years of age or older

    • Must complete all requirements as listed on the Coach Memberships resource page 

    • Must always be supervised by a Coach member in good standing (one-to-one supervision)

    • Valid from the date of registration through December 31st of the registration year  

    • Must be in good standing for all practices, competitions and club activities

    • Automatically upgraded to a Coach member once all requirements have been completed, including all CORE and Rules & Regs courses

  • Junior Coach

    • Offered at the option of the club

    • Must be 16 to 17 years of age

    • Must complete all requirements as listed on the Coach Memberships resource page 

    • Must always be supervised by a Coach member in good standing (one-to-one supervision)

    • Valid from the date of registration through December 31st of the registration year  

    • Must be in good standing for all practices, competitions and club activities

    • Automatically upgraded to a Coach member upon turning 18 and must complete all Coach member requirements 

  • Official

    • Must be 18 years of age or older

    • Must complete and follow all USA Swimming membership requirements and USA Swimming Officials Certification Standards 

    • Valid from the date of registration through December 31st of the registration year  

    • Must be in good standing to be on-deck for competitions

    • Meet sessions worked while not registered as an Official are not entered into the Officials Tracking System

    • Meet sessions worked while not registered as an Official are not entered into the Officials Tracking System
  • Junior Official

    • Offered at the option of the club

    • Must be 16 to 17 years of age

    • Must complete Safe Sport of Youth Athletes Training and Concussion Protocol Training

    • Must complete and follow all USA Swimming membership requirements and USA Swimming Officials Certification Standards

    • Must always be supervised by an Official member in good standing (one-to-one supervision)

    • Automatically upgraded to an Official member upon turning 18 and must complete any additional USA Swimming membership requirements

    • Valid from the date of registration through December 31st of the registration year  

    • Must be in good standing to be on-deck for competitions

    • Meet sessions worked while not registered as a Junior Official are not entered into the Officials Tracking System

  • Other

    • Must be 18 years of age or older 

    • Must complete Athlete Protection Training and a Background Check

    • Examples: Meet Directors, LSC board members, dry-land coach, chaperones, personal assistant, etc.

    • Valid from the date of registration through December 31st of the registration year  

  • Administrator

    • Must be 18 years of age or older 

    • Must complete Athlete Protection Training and a Background Check

    • For those registered after 2021 with direct oversight responsibilities of club information but without direct access to athletes 

    • Examples: Club Board members, Registrars

    • Does not include those that have responsibilities to others using the facility 

      • Example: lifeguard whose duties are related to all those in the aquatics facility as opposed to only the member club athletes

    • Valid from the date of registration through December 31st of the registration year
