Frederick Area Swim Team Coach

Receives Citation from Mayor

Frederick, MD— In honor of 30 years of outstanding leadership and service to the athletes of the Frederick community, Mayor Randy McClement commended the many years of guidance Coach Cheryl Linscott has provided through the coaching of thousands of area swimmers on the Frederick Area Swim Team.  The City of Frederick congratulated Coach Cheryl on the success of her efforts with the attached Official Citation.

FAST has a 35-year history of developing kids into confident competitive swimmers with excellent sportsmanship, self-discipline, and leadership skills. Our swimmers practice hard, between three and five times a week and most compete one or two times per month.  FAST coaches work to find the right balance so that the kids are well-conditioned but not burned out.

FAST offers a competitive youth swim program for swimmers ages 5 to 18 in Frederick County, Maryland as well as swimming lessons and a pre-comp team.  FAST is a member of the Maryland Swimming organization and USA Swimming (USS) and is a Maryland registered non-profit organization.  In 2013, FAST received Level 3 recognition from USA Swimming for its successful coaching program and overall organizational strengths.  For more information about joining FAST, visit the team website at www.frederickareaswimteam.org.
