Coaches and Directors
Coach Jim Sells swam for Ann Arbor Swim Club & Ann Arbor Pioneer High School, where he was a five-time high school All-American. He went on to swim at the University of Oklahoma where he met his wife Jill. He has a history with BAC dating back to 2000, when his oldest daughter Ashley, swam for the club. He’s been coaching BAC swimmers since 2011, focusing on the Senior & Bulldog groups. His expertise in coaching also encompasses being the head Coach for both the girls & boys swimming and diving teams at Livonia Churchill High School. In his spare time, he enjoys facetiming with his four grand babies: Vienna, Autumn, Isabel and Shawn III.
Coach Jill Sells has been with the team since 2004 and is the lead coach of the younger BAC swimming groups. Jill has been a swim instructor and coach for over 30 years. She swam all four years for the University of Oklahoma and competed as a freshman at the NAIA Championship meet. Jill also was the only swimmer for Dewey High School in Oklahoma and the high school did not have a swimming pool! It took a year and a lot of red tape, but her Dad succeeded in making it happen. She swam for the Phillips 66 Splash Club in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Both daughters Ashley & Kera swam for the Bulldogs. Jill coached both girls in their early years of swimming at BAC. Kera currently swims for the College of Wooster. Jill & Jim also have four grand babies (Vienna, Autumn, Isabel & Shawn III).
