USA Swimming
Flint Falcons participate in both YMCA meets and USA Swimming meets.
Registering as a member of USA Swimming allows swimmers to participate in USA Swimming/Michigan Swimming sanctioned meets. It is not required for YMCA hosted competitions. Some USA santioned meets we attend offer more varied competition and larger invitationals. Falcons aged 11 and over are encouraged to register as a USA Swimming member. Swimmers 9/10 should discuss with their coach if they should register as a USA Swimming member. 8 and Under swimmers typically do not need to register for USA Swimming.
All meets in spring and summer require a membership to USA Swimming (there are no YMCA meets during spring/summer session).
USA Swimming migrated to a new registration system in fall of 2022. Families/Swimmers will register themselves directly through a link we provide. There is a process that needs to be followed. Please register your swimmers for the "Premium Athlete" membership unless they are brand new to USA Swimming. If they are brand new, they may register for the Flex membership, which allows them to swim in two USA Swimming sanctioned meets (non-championship). Premium memberships run from 9/1/2023-12/31/2024.
