Mantas Swim Club Weekly Update

Mantas Families,

We had a fantastic first week of practice with MANY new faces in our Novice and Age Group teams.  It’s so fun to see all the smiling faces back in the water.  

Parents, if you know of a family with an interested swimmer, please let them know that it isn’t too late to start swimming with Mantas Swim Club.  Swimmers can start at almost any point in our season and are welcome to come and watch a practice and talk with the coaches at any time.  

Swim Meet registrations are available and it’s good for you to know the deadlines!  Our next meet deadline is in one week, Monday, April 29.  The Storm Spring Start Up meet takes place at the University of MN, May 10 – 12 and is for swimmers with times that meet the SILVER standard.  

Our own Mantas Swim Club hosted, Red White & Blue Invite, taking place at the Rochester Rec Center, June 22-23, also has an early declaration deadline of Monday, April 29.  We have this early deadline, so we have a good estimate of the size of the meet.  This meet always fills up, so we plan early. Don’t miss this registration.  Parent volunteer slots will also be made available soon.

Finally, to our Novice and Age Group parents watching practice at our Gustavus location, I know the pool bleachers aren’t the easiest to sit in, and Safe Sport rules limit the areas that parents are allowed to view practices. For instance, we can’t have parents walking around the pool deck during practice. This is for the safety and respect of all swimmers and coaches.  To make watching practices easier we’ll open the balcony spectator area at Gustavus.  The balcony area can be found right at the top of the stairs from the first-floor pool lobby.

Practice Groups in New Prague at the FAC

Novice will swim Monday – Thursday, 5:30pm – 6:15pm

AG1 will swim Monday – Thursday, 6:15pm – 7:15pm

AG2 will swim Monday – Thursday, 6:00pm – 7:15pm

Senior groups will swim Monday – Thursday, 5:30pm – 7:30pm

Practice Groups in Saint Peter at GUSTAVUS

Novice will swim Monday – Thursday, 6:00pm - 6:45pm

AG1 will swim Monday – Thursday, 6:00pm – 7:00pm

AG2 will swim Monday – Thursday, 6:00pm – 7:15pm

Senior groups will swim Monday – Thursday, 6:30pm – 8:30pm, Friday 5:30 – 7:00pm.
