Shooting Stars Policies

When Can I Start? You can start at any time! We run tuition on a month-to-month basis.

Payment Due Dates: Your annual membership fee is due at the time of setup. We require a card to be on file for all members. Your card will be automatically charged on the 1st of every month for that month's classes. You may pay via cash or check prior to the 1st if you prefer. When card on file is charged for monthly tuition, you will be responsible for paying the convenience fee ($.30 + 3.8%).

Drop Notification (Applies to requests to withdraw from class before end of Session): Withdrawal requests must be received by the 25th of the month for the following month. (Example: Withdraw request received October 25th to be removed from classes in November.) All drop requests must have a completed DROP REQUEST FORM handed in to the front office. You will receive a confirmation email once the drop has been processed. If you do not hear from us, please check to make sure we received your notification.

If you do not follow these drop procedures you will be held responsible for all outstanding invoices. Until we receive your drop request we will be holding that spot for your student.

Cancelled Classes
There may be times that we need to cancel classes, but we will only do so if we have no other options. Possible reasons to cancel may be for instructor unavailability, inclement weather, or facility problems. When we cancel classes our primary means of communication will be via email and our FaceBook Page. It is important that your contact information is correct in your Parent Account, as that is the source we use for contacting you. We will schedule a makeup class for any cancelled classes.

We do not give credits or refunds if individual students are going to be absent from class. We are still holding that spot for your child in the class. If you are planning an extended absence, it is your choice if you’d like to drop the class and try to re-enroll at a later point. We will not save spaces once you have dropped.

Makeups
We offer 2 makeups per month for absences. Makeups must be redeemed prior to you leaving the program or before the end of the Session, whichever comes first. You must request a makeup by contacting the office.

If you are more than 10 minutes late, please schedule a make-up and do not attend class as it is a safety hazard for gymnasts to participate without warming up with their class. For their safety, students will not be allowed to leave the gym unless accompanied by an adult. All parents or accepted persons must come inside to get their children (children may not leave the building without being accompanied by an adult).

Regular attendance will greatly help your child. Attendance will be considered when placing students into the higher levels. If you are going to be absent for a while it will be helpful if the instructor knows.

What to Wear or Bring
Please wear clothes that will not inhibit movement. Gymnasts will not wear shoes or socks. Hair should be pulled back from face and students should bring a bottle of water labeled with their name. For safety purposes, all jewelry must be removed before coming to class. Jeans are not appropriate for class. Leotards (covering the stomach) are encouraged for females. Male gymnasts should wear shorts or athletic pants with a tucked-in shirt. NINJA participants must order a uniform from theninjastore.com.

Can I Stay or Should I Go?
Twinklers is a parent participation class. Those parents will be involved in the class and are expected to be in the gym for the entire class.
For all other classes, we feel the gymnasts will do best if the parents are not in the gym. This is part of the learning experience and will help them to focus on the instructor. If you chose to stay, please do not disturb the class from the viewing area.  Our instructional classes are not custodial care and shouldn’t be considered child care. Please do not have students arrive more than 10 minutes before their class. They should be picked up or leave directly afterwards.

Communicating with Instructors
Often our instructors are scheduled for a set of back-to-back classes. This might mean that there isn’t a time to talk to the instructor before or after class. Please be respectful of the instructor’s time and realize that they may not have time to talk without disrupting another class. If you need to discuss anything with the instructor our office can facilitate.
