Weekly Message From Head Coach Kyle
Hello SSC Parents & Swimmers,
Thank you to all of our members for continuing to work with our practice schedule this week as our Sachem North Facility continues to undergo some unforeseen repairs. Currently, we are waiting on an update from the School District with regards to when we can return to Sachem North full time.
Fortunately, while we are waiting we are able to provide a temporary practice schedule for the week. Below in this email is the adjusted practice schedule for the week. Some of this schedule is still TBD, so please be sure to stay on top of communications this week for practice reminders and any updates.
We hope that you can take advantage of the opportunities we have worked to provide you all this week in light of the suspended use of one of our Home Pools!
This weekend will be the 2023 Bronze Championship meet at Hofstra University, and we will have a separate SSC Team headed upstate to Ithaca College for the 2023 Speedo Sectionals Championship as well! Due to the increased staffing needed to run these meets, we will not be holding regular practices for the Developmental, Novice, Juniors, Advanced, and Senior groups on Friday and Saturday this week.

Additional Announcements for the Upcoming Week
1 - Coach Staffing - What’s New? Congratulations to Coach Rob on accepting the position of Head Novice Group Coach this week! Coach Rob will be moving as Head Group Coach of the Developmental training group to the Head Group Coach at Novice! Coach Rob will be regularly Assisted by Coach Nicole, Coach Muhtar, and Coach Brandon over the next few months with the occasional SSC Coaches dropping in! Please congratulate Coach Rob on his new position and best of luck with the group! Developmental practices will be Headed by both Coach Kim and Coach Kyle over the coming weeks while we search for a Full Time Group Head Coach for the Developmental squad! We will be announcing updates as they come!
2 - Metropolitan Swimming - Athlete Representative needed

3 - Juniors Group Parent Meeting - There will be a MANDATORY Jr Group Parent meeting at Sachem EAST in the Bleachers from 6:00 - 6:30 pm following the Juniors practice on Thursday, 03/23. Please make every effort to attend. Topics like group communications, Middle School Swimming, Group Training equipment, etc will be discussed.
4 - New Members/Move-Ups - Over the past few weeks we have had a lot of move-ups in our program, and have brought on a few new members. With this comes a lot of questions about meets, scheduling, equipment usage, etc. Please be reminded that most of this information is available on our website at SachemSwimClub.com Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the structure of our webpage, and please feel free to email Coach Kyle to set up a quick phone call to discuss and review any questions that you may have! I am always happy to walk you through our program and answer any questions that you may have!

3-Fitter & Faster Stroke Clinic: Butterfly & Breaststroke

We have some exciting news to share as we head into the weekend. We will be welcoming back Fitter and Faster for a Fast Butterfly & Breaststroke Swim Camp on April 29 & 30 being led by 2x Big Ten Champion Drew Loy!
For those who don't know much about Drew he is a decorated swimmer who swam for Ohio State University. He has achieved several notable accolades throughout his career, including being named a CSCAA First Team All-American and earning First Team All-Big Ten honors in 2020 as well as being an Olympic Trials qualifier. In addition to his athletic achievements, Loy has also excelled academically, receiving multiple Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten honors

5- Fire Island Junior Lifeguards - Summer Registration OPEN
Many of you have reached out to me interested in learning more about Junior Lifeguarding Training and Competition Opportunities.
