2023 Counties Championship Meet Information

Hello SSC Parents & Swimmers,


Once again, the time has finally come for the 2023 ASCSC County Championship! This Saturday and Sunday we will be competing in a HUGE Season Closing Meet with all teams in Suffolk County! We have 71 qualifiers and we need each and every one of you there, competing at your best ability!

 

Please be reminded that tonight, 04/20/23 we will be hosting a special Counties Team Practice, followed by a Special Counties Team Dinner at Sachem East. All Swimmers competing in the 2023 SSC Counties Team will attend a Counties Team Practice and Dinner at Sachem East. All other athletes will be provided an alternative practice schedule to continue to train (See weekly Practice Schedule). Please be sure to notify us ASAP if you cannot attend.

 

The Counties Team Practice Schedule:

Date: Thursday, April 20th, 2023

Session #1: 13+ Swimmers: 4:30 - 6:00 pm @ Sachem East

Session #2: 12 & Under Swimmers: 6:00 - 7:00 pm @ Sachem East 

Team Photo @ 7:00pm On Deck, Team Dinner @ 7:15 pm in Cafe B

ALL MEMBERS AND PARENTS MUST READ THE MEET ENTRY FILE AND CONFIRM EACH OF YOUR ATHLETE'S EVENTS - ESPECIALLY RELAYS. WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM MANY OF YOU!

 

THIS IS A MANDATORY MEET AND WE NEED ALL QUALIFIERS AT THE MEET!

 

ALL QUALIFIERS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND, PARTICIPATE AND STAY FOR THE ENTIRE SESSION! IF YOU ARE IN A RELAY, MAKE SURE YOU ARE THERE!

 

ATHLETES ARE NOT PERMITTED TO LEAVE WHEN THEIR EVENTS ARE OVER!

*If your events are not listed or you suspect there is something wrong with your entry, please notify Coach Kyle ASAP* Please read carefully for your name and events list. 

 

Athletes: As always, our relays are based on the fastest possible conglomerate for the initial entry. Swimmers who fail to adequately train or do not meet the competitive standard during training or at this competition may be subject to removal from the relays. All relays are contested during finals sessions.

 

County Championship Photography: Michael Wetherell will be offering photography services at Counties. Please contact Michael Wetehrll to set up your athletes’ photos!

SSC is responsible for 4 timers. Our timers are assigned to Lane #8 & Lane #9 for all sessions of this meet, prelims, and finals. If you are interested in timing email [email protected] including what sessions you are interested in.

 

Parents NOT Working this Meet:

All parents and spectators not given a work assignment for this meet are NOT ALLOWED DOWNSTAIRS for any reason short of an emergency. Parents are never permitted on the pool deck without a work assignment. Parents are NOT ALLOWED in the locker rooms ever for any reason. Please use the restrooms upstairs if needed. There are single-stall restrooms available on the first floor for meet workers. Do not enter the locker rooms during a swim meet or a practice at any location as it is a violation of USA Swimming Safe Sport Rules.

 

Meet Information for Swimmers & Parents:

Day 1 Prelims – Saturday April 22, 2023 -8am warm up 9am Start

Day 1 Finals – Saturday April 22, 2023 - 3pm warm up 4pm Start

(All 200 Medley Relays will swim in finals of Day 1)

 

Day 2 Prelims – Sunday April 23, 2023 - 8am warm up 9am Start

Day 2 Finals – Sunday April 23, 2023 - 3pm warmup Start 10 Mins after Senior Parade

(All 200 Free Relays will swim in finals of Day 2)

 

Note: Athletes Competing in this meet will be permitted on deck in all sessions. We ask that all athletes stick with our team and do not wander around the deck. If you are there for a session that you are not in, you are expected to be there as a supporter and will be asked to leave if you do not comply with these guidelines. If you are NOT in counties, you are permitted to attend as a spectator and will not be permitted on deck.

 

How to Enter the facilities:

Please see the attached aerial view of the Nassau County Aquatic Center for information on how/where to access the facilities.

When to get to the facility:

Parents/Swimmers are responsible for arriving at the facility 15 minutes before the start of your session’s warm-up time (Listed below and included in the meet itinerary of every single meet). Swimmers will wait outside the pool entrance until the facilities permit entry. Do not be late.
