SSC Summer Mad Dash Meet Information
Hello SSC Parents & Swimmers,
Now announcing our next HOME meet, the SSC Summer Mad Dash. Thanks to all that made the A-May-Zing Races meet such a success. Heading into this next meet, there are a few details that were overlooked regarding the Prelims/Finals (P/F) meet at the last one that we would like to make a bit more clear for our members this next time around!
Developmental & Novice Swimmers - Although this meet is not an AUTOMATIC entry, we highly encourage all to sign up! It is a great team-building opportunity, a great atmosphere, and a great opportunity to start exploring Long Course Meters meets! If you are unsure about registration, please contact Coach Kyle, Coach Kim, and/or Coach Rob for guidance on entry! We have plenty of space and would love to see our Dev/Nov athletes swim!
Prelims/Finals Meet operations for SSC Summer Mad Dash:
The SSC Mad Dash Meet will follow the same P/F format as the previous A-May-Zing Races meet, with athletes swimming their “preliminary” races on Saturday, and their “finals” races on Sunday. Prior to each athlete's departure from the preliminary session, each athlete (11+ years old) will be REQUIRED to go to the scratch table to review their place and declare their intent to scratch (not attend) finals the next day, regardless of their overall place. The top 20 swimmers in each event will swim at Finals the next day. Regardless of the overall placement after prelims, and even if your athlete is 30th, they will still have to declare their intent to scratch. This process is important to be sure that Finals do not have empty lanes and that as many athletes as possible will be able to take advantage of the finals opportunity!
Reminders about this meet:
-All Swimmers in the Juniors, Advanced, and Seniors training groups have been AUTOMATICALLY enrolled in this meet.
-All Swimmers in the Developmental and Novice groups must DECLARE THEIR INTENT to participate by logging into their SSC account, clicking on the meet, and entering their name in the meet. Events will be at the discretion of the SSC Coaches, but you can select preferred events as well!
-If you cannot attend this meet you must notify me asap of a scratch. Failure to indicate that you will not be attending by 8:00pm on will result in a charge to your account for the splash fees.
-This meet MAY include a Time Trial Opportunity after Preliminary Sessions on Saturday! Time trials are always subject to cancellation, however, if you are interested in time trialing any events or would like to potentially bookmark your place for a time trial, please contact me asap!

How to Enter the facilities:
Please see the attached aerial view of the Nassau County Aquatic Center for information on how/where to access the facilities.
When to get to the facility:
Parents/Swimmers are responsible for arriving at the facility 15 minutes before the start of your session’s warm up time (Listed above and included in the meet itinerary of every single meet). Swimmers must arrive early as there is only one opportunity for warm up through the entire meet. We cannot guarantee that your swimmer will be unable to properly warm up if you are late. This means no starts, no stroke review/practice, and increased risk of injury or poor performance! Warm up is IMPORTANT and that is why we need your swimmers there on time!
