Hello SSC Swimmers & Parents,

 

Today is the entry deadline for commitment to the 2023 RAC Sandbox Invitational. If you have not already committed to this meet, I may not be able to get you in after today. Remember it is always easier to scratch out of the meet if circumstances present themselves than it is to get into it after the entry deadline!

Note: Relays not included. Relays will be shared once final commitments are secured. No Relay Only (RO) swimmers will be permitted in this meet.

 

As many of you know, the RAC Invite is a big Prelims/Finals meet that myself and the SSC Coaching staff are eyeing and programming for as our “mid-season” championship meet for the Long Course Meters (LCM) Season. With that in mind, it is one of the best opportunities our athletes will have to swim fast this summer and hopefully qualify for additional Championship meets at the end of the LCM season! It is also a wonderful meet and team-building experience!

 

Since this is a major championship meet, there are qualifying times.

If you are not on this list, you still may have qualified in short course yards (SCY). If that is the case, to double check that you did not already qualify in SCY with a convertible time (SCY to LCM conversion) you can use the following link to review your time conversions against the qualifying times in this meet by following the information and link below:

 

SHORT COURSE YARDS QUALIFICATION:

This meet is permitting time conversions for qualification. If you have not yet qualified for an event in LCM, you may have qualified for the event in SCY. To know if you may have qualified for an event using a Short Course Yards (SCY) time, you can use the following link to calculate the estimated time via conversion. https://www.teamunify.com/osthsc/__doc__/time-conversion-tool.html. If you have any questions about time conversions, please let me know asap. If you qualify for the event using a conversion, please screenshot the conversion chart as proof of qualification and forward to me via email asap.

 

DECLARE YOUR INTENT TO PARTICIPATE:

If you have qualified and plan to attend this meet, please declare your intent to swim ASAP! Sign into your SSC account, go to the SSC Meet Calendar, and sign up for this meet! If you have any trouble, please RSVP to this meet by emailing [email protected] directly. If you are qualified and are NOT going, please decline this meet manually so that we don’t have to chase you down!

 

Travel Arrangements:

11+ Swimmers will travel with coaches and chaperones on the trip.  10 & Under eligible swimmers must travel with their parents/guardians.  Swimmers on team travel (11+) will have hotel, transportation and food arranged. Travel arrangements, cost, etc are all subject to registration #s so we need to get commitment ASAP!  Currently, we are planning to rent a bus for team travel. We are estimating the total cost for the meet will be $ 400.00 - $500.00.

 

Additional Travel Information will be provided shortly, once we have confirmed our final number of athletes. The SSC hotel information and travel packets will be distributed asap after final commitments are made.
