Weekly Message From Head Coach Kyle

 

SSC Swimmers & Parents,

 

Preseason has reached its conclusion and the start of the competitive season will begin on Tuesday, 09/05/23 for Seniors and Advanced, and on 09/06 for Developmental, Novice, and Junior Swimmers. All non-competitive groups will begin training next week beginning on 09/11/23. See the practice schedule below for notes on these dates! Please also note that we will be offering an extra Novice Practice on Tuesday 09/05 at Sachem North for the brand new SSC swimmers in this group as well as the fall move-ups in this group. This practice will serve as a technical review and an intro to the Novice Group expectations. We hope to see our newest Novice swimmers take advantage of the opportunity!

If you are new to SSC, welcome! Below is the weekly update with links to the SSC Events calendar. All new and returning members should take a moment to review some of the meets and opportunities on this link to begin planning your weekends and competitions through the season. Please also review each of the quick links at the top of this newsletter as they contain some amenities that members can take advantage of! Please also review the group training notes and schedules included in the weekly practice schedule below.

 

Developmental through Senior Parents and Athletes:

 

Our first meet of the season is on Saturday, September 23rd at the Nassau County Aquatic Center.  This is a home meet, the annual TYR September Sprint.   All Developmental through Senior athletes will be automatically entered and this meet will have events chosen by the coaches (all athletes will participate in the 50s of each stroke, failure to attend may make you ineligible to compete in the Relay Carnival Meet) and will be used to pick swimmers for the Relay Carnival, on October 1st. PLEASE save the dates!!! Please make every effort to attend, and if you cannot attend, please be sure to notify [email protected] ASAP so that you are not billed for a no-show!

 

Additionally, there will be an Open Water Competition on 09/09. Please use the Event Calendar Link below in our practice schedule to view the meet information and sign up!

 

Newcomers:

 If you have any children, cousins, neighbors, etc who are interested in trying out with us, please have them contact [email protected] directly to schedule an evaluation for our program!
