Below is some information regarding the upcoming 2023 SSC September Sprint Meet on Saturday 09/23/23. We have some exciting additions to this meet that we would like to share!

Additionally, we have added some information to review for the next few meets on the schedule. Please review in detail, check your calendars, start signing up for the away meets, and let me know if you have any questions!

2023 SSC TYR September Sprint Meet

Important Notes: SSC Team Policy requires all athletes in the Developmental through Senior Training Groups to attend this meet to be eligible for the 2023 Relay Carnival meet. If you cannot attend, you must email [email protected] ASAP to inform us that you will not be there. Failure to attend will result in loss of opportunity to improve one’s times for fair placement on a relay team at the Relay Carnival Championship meet. Additionally, failure to attend without notifying us prior to the event deadline of 09/16/23, will result in a charge to your account for the splash fees incurred.

PARENT WORK ASSIGNMENTS: WORK ASSIGNMENTS will open for signups after the Parent Meeting on 9/14/23.

All SSC Athletes in the Developmental through Senior groups will be automatically entered into a 50 SCY Freestyle, 50 SCY Backstroke, 50 SCY Breaststroke, and 50 SCY Butterfly in an effort to improve times for placement in the Relay Carnival meet. If you wish to swim in an alternative event, please contact your group head coach for permission to do so.

College Recruiting Seminar: Hosted by Kevin Walsh

SSC has invited friend of the program, Kevin Walsh, to lead an NCAA information meeting for all athletes ages 15+ attending the SSC September Sprint Meet. Athletes interested in learning about the process to become an NCAA Collegiate Swimmer or athlete are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity! Coach Kevin Walsh is the current Head Coach of the College of Saint Rose Golden Knights and will be at Nassau County Aquatic Center to host a 1 hour discussion and Q&A starting at 2:30pm until 3:30pm. The discussion will be hosted at the deep end side of bleachers near the diving boards. Please plan to arrive around 2:20pm to find a spot!

Sessions:

Session 1: Ages 13-14/10U Boys Saturday 9/23/23 7:00am Warm Up, 8:05am Start

Session 2: Ages 11-12/10U Girls Saturday 9/23/23 11:30am Warm Up, 12:35pm Start

Session 3: Ages 15 & Over Saturday 9/23/23 4:00pm Warm Up, 5:05pm Start

2023 ASCSC Relay Carnival Team Championship Meet

This is a mandatory TEAM meet that all athletes should be working to qualify for!

All entries in this meet will be announced only once the results of the SSC September Sprint meet have been approved by Metro. The SSC coaching staff will determine the final roster and backup athletes. You will be AUTOMATICALLY ENROLLED should you qualify.

If you qualify for the ASCSC Relay Carnival Team it is mandatory to attend. Failure to attend will result in the loss of competitive opportunity for your teammates and you will incur splash fees for all missed relay events.

Backup swimmers will also be announced. If you are a backup swimmer you are required to attend but may not see competition. Backup swimmers can and have been used based on teammates dropping out due to illness, injury, emergency, or disqualification. Please do not miss this opportunity and please make every effort to attend regardless of competitive outcome. We will give you a job on deck if you don’t swim!
