Weekly Message From Head Coach Kyle

 

SSC Swimmers & Parents,

 

Thanks for another great week of training. I am very happy with our performances at the SSC vs FA Dual meet. Thanks to all who came down to compete in the first-ever SSC vs FA Dual meet. We had an insane number of PBs once again and 2 team records!

 

Seniors/ADV swimmers: Apologies for the miscommunication on Thursday’s practice. The initial link for the practice schedule did not update immediately when the weekly schedule was initially sent out last week leaving many with last week’s estimated schedule rather than reality. It affected some of the communications with the YMCA as well. I apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

 

SSC Developmental and Novice athletes (and all other athletes competing in the HAA Halloween Meet): Please see the meet update linked above in the quick links for information about your meet tomorrow, 10.29.23!

 

Graduating Seniors: Please mark your calendars for 11/03/23! We will be hosting a Senior Media Night at Sachem East from 4:45 - 6:30pm! More info to come on this topic!

 

Sachem Graduates: Please be advised that the Sachem Senior Trip will again be the same weekend as The Suffolk County Championship Meet. This is not ideal, we know, but we urge you to consider attendance in the meet as a priority. We understand that the decision to attend or decline the senior trip is due soon for you so we need to hear from you ASAP if you are NOT planning to attend Counties, otherwise, you will be billed for your entries to counties. Additionally, it is worth pointing out that regardless of qualification in the ASCSC County Championship meet, graduating seniors will automatically be permitted to compete in the 100 SCY Freestyle as well as receive a Senior Walk, gift, etc.

 

Sachem Swim Club: American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course - New Certification Course

 

We are excited to announce our FIRST SSC Lifeguarding New Cert Course! Leading this course will be Coach Kirkland Lewis! Below is important information regarding this class to be reviewed in detail. Please do so and sign up ASAP as spots are limited!

 

Course Dates:

Saturday October 28th - 7:00am - 2:00pm Sachem East Canceled

Sunday October 29th - 11:00am - 4:00pm Sachem East Canceled

Saturday November 4th - 7:00am - 2:00pm Sachem East

Sunday November 5th - 7:00am - 2:00pm Sachem East

Sunday November 12th - 8:00am - 12:00pm Sachem East

Tuesday November 14th - 6:30pm - 10:00pm Sachem North

Class Cost - New Cert: 

$400 per SSC Member, $425 for non members

Registration Requirements:

*Classes will be limited to groups of 5 or 10* 

*10 Registrants required for 6-10 to be entered*

*Make-up class time will be available for those who need it*

 

Prior to starting this course, you will need to register an account with the American Red Cross. Please use this link to do so. Failure to do so will exempt you from taking this course. 

 

Championship Meets: Please be reminded that our Mid-Season Championship meet info has been posted. A hotel block is available for the Turkey Claus Meet in Maryland, and Cut times/Meet Info is available for NCAP (Qualifier Team Travel Meet). Please review these ASAP and please make attendance to either of these meets a priority if possible!

 

The Turkey Claus hotel block closes on 10/30/23! You can always cancel later.
