Meet Information Update 11.17.23 - DISTANCE MEET

Hello Team,

Tomorrow is the SSC Turkey Trot DISTANCE MEET! This meet is Automatic Entry for Seniors & Advanced Groups. Juniors are opt in and heavily encouraged, and Novice are opt in and select few encouraged. At this point, all entries are FINAL. Any changes received this week may not be reflected on the Entry Report but will be on a running scratch sheet. If you submitted a request to change your entry this week, please remain calm and check in with the Coaching staff BEFORE your warm up starts tomorrow!

Please be reminded that we will be hosting a Time Trial opportunity at the conclusion of Session #1 tomorrow morning for anyone looking to complete an event on their goal list or to earn a cut time!

This is the LAST CALL for all SSC swimmers interested in attending the upcoming Championship meet, the 2023 Turkey Claus Showdown. Final updated files and relay entries have been sent to the meet host. We will need to make any necessary changes by Sunday at noon to be accepted. Please take advantage of the amazing opportunity! That meet will be held from November 30th - December 3rd at the University of Maryland. We encourage all competitive athletes to participate!

For those who are not traveling to Turkey Claus, please be reminded that this is the LAST CALL to declare your intent to swim at the following weekend’s HAA Invite. The meet information has been posted and the meet will likely fill up by the end of this weekend. Please, if you are committed to this meet, take this time to review the new meet information, add notes to your entry, or change your declaration to attend or not!!!!!

Time Trials @ Turkey Trot DISTANCE MEET: SSC will likely have time slotted between Session #1 & Session #2 at the conclusion of the 500/400IM session. The timeline is dependent on meet turnout and cannot be estimated. If you would like to set up a time trial, please issue your requests asap to [email protected] & [email protected] to be added to the running list. 

Mid-Season Championship Meets

Now is a good time to remind you all to head over and take a look at the SSC Meet Calendar for additional upcoming Home and Away meets! Most importantly, take a look at the travel and local championship meets in December (Turkey Claus, NCAP Invite, and the HAUP TYR Eagle Invite). These meets are going to be the big competitions that we are looking for the best representation of our athletes! If you cannot travel or if it is not in the budget, please consider going to the HAUP Eagle Invite, otherwise, we encourage all athletes to participate in Turkey Claus or NCAP if you qualify!

Cut times are NOW AVAILABLE for the 2023 NCAP Invitational. Please click here to view the meet info and cut times in meet information packet. 

Entry in Turkey Claus is for any level (Dev->Seniors) athlete. The only prerequisite to entering this meet is having legal swim times in the events that you enter into! If you qualify for any events at the NCAP Invite, you cannot swim them at Turkey Claus. If you qualify for 3 or more NCAP events, you cannot swim in Turkey Claus. Please plan accordingly!

SSC Meet Entry Protocols Explained

Please remember that you can and should insert notes when submitting your entries through your accounts on SachemSwimClub.com. When doing so, please indicate which days/sessions you are available for. Leaving no notes will result in automatic enrollment in every session for up to 3 events each session per individual. Please also indicate whether your swimmer has requested to swim less than the standard 3 events or if they have any specific goals or plans for said meet. If you are not managing that correctly, you may be paying for additional entries and leaving coaches wondering if you’re showing up to a specific session or not! Parents are responsible to SSC for payment for all entries on away meets.  These are charged to your account and due the 1st of the month after the meet.

If you are having trouble interpreting the SSC Meet Calendar, please send [email protected] an email requesting a phone call to review and manage your entries. You can also send this information via email if you experience any trouble with your account.

When doing entries, please be reminded of your swimmers IMX (14&Unders as of January 2024) and event completion requirements for training group move up consideration. You can review some of the Training Group Standards on our website!

Please also review your swimmers times at the links below to determine which events may be a good idea to try, which have not been completed, and which may be close to future meet qualifying times!
