Please see the added Open Water Meet on 07/22 and submit your commitment ASAP! This meet will be on the North Shore at Cedar Beach! Hurry and commit ASAP!

 

SSC Jr Metropolitan Championship swimmers. Sadly we will not be able to field the 15+ Female Relays on Saturday and Sunday. If you have entries in these events please disregard them. All other relays are expected to continue as highlighted in the entry reports.

2025 MR LCM Junior Metropolitan Championships (Formerly JOs)

Scratches

This meet will be pre-seeded the night before the competition. 

  • Scratches are due by 6:00 pm the night before the competition.  

  • Complete Scratches by email to [email protected]

  • Friday Scratches: Due Thursday, 7/17 at 6:00pm

  • Saturday Scratches: Due Friday, 7/18 at 6:00 pm

  • Sunday Scratches: Due Saturday, 7/19 at 6:00pm

 

Relay Names:  For BOTH meets, are due to the head table 30 minutes before the start of each session.  If you know your relays in advance, please feel free to send the names by email.

 

Warm Ups

I have attached the warm-up assignments for the entire weekend. Please review them carefully and let me know if you have trouble finding your team. 

  • Please have athletes enter from the diving platform side of the pool 

  • Please be advised that warm up lane assignments were created based on the number of athletes on each team entered in individual events and do NOT include relay only swimmers.  

  • Warm up lanes will be available in the Short Course Meter pool during the meet.

  • There is a separate warm up for one way sprints.

 

Warm Up & Start Times 

Updated warm up and start times are as follows for the weekend.  Please inform your athletes:

  • Friday Morning 10&U/13-14: 7:45 AM warm up, 9:00 AM Start

  • Friday Afternoon 11-12/15-18: 1:30 PM warm up, 2:45 Start

 

  • Saturday Morning 10&U/13-14: 7:45 AM warm up, 9:00 AM Start

  • Saturday Afternoon 11-12/15-18: 1:30 PM warm up, 2:45 Start

 

  • Sunday Morning 10&U/13-14: 7:45 AM warm up, 9:00 AM Start

  • Sunday Afternoon 11-12/15-18: 1:30 PM warm up, 2:45 Start

 

Awards. 

Awards will be available for pick up in room 106 at the conclusion of Sunday’s events.  Please be sure to pick up your awards before your last session as they will not be mailed.

 

Time Trials

Time trials will not be offered.

Please remind your families that tickets should be purchased in advance.  Any tickets purchased at the door will be cash only.

Photography

EPBeyond Photography will be at the 2025 Junior Met Championships providing the action photography for the events.  If you would like to have your swimmer photographed please click the link below.  You will be able to select up to four individual races throughout the weekend, but heats fill up, so act fast!  Only swimmers who are signed up will be photographed. https://epbeyond.square.site/ 

 

Facility Rules

Please notify your coaches and families that the facility will not be open until 7:15 am (30 minutes prior to warm up) for prelims each day.  

 

As per Nassau County Aquatic Center rules, chairs of any kind are not permitted on the pool deck.  We greatly appreciate your cooperation and your respect for our staff and volunteers time as we get set up for the meet

 

We are excited to make this year’s Junior Mets the most exciting one yet.  Be sure to let your athletes know about all the fun experiences we have planned! 

An Athlete Carnival will be located outside on the patio behind the diving boards (weather permitting) on Friday & Saturday.  Athletes can stop in for:

  • Best Time Plinko:  Swimmers who swim their best time will have a chance to drop a “PLINKO” Token and win prizes!

  • Spirit Station:  Get creative and make some fun posters and signs to cheer on your team!

  • Lawn Games:  Swimmers can play a variety of lawn games including giant jenga, giant connect 4, basketball toss, ladder ball, and corn hole

  • Carnival Snacks: Each athlete will receive one ticket to pick up a Carnival Snack from the Athlete Carnival before they leave on Friday and Saturday.  Coaches can pick up their ticket packets on Friday and Saturday during coach check in prior to each session.

Saturday Spirit Awards:  Bring your team spirit to Saturday’s session!  The team(s) with the most spirit at each session will win the chance to take shots at their coach in the Splash Zone on Sunday!  Coaches will vote and winners will be selected in 3 different categories:

  • Hype Machine Award:  Which team did you think brought the loudest cheering and most hype to the session?

  • Best Fit Award: Which team showed their team spirit the most?

  • Tiny But Mighty Award: Who was a small team with a lot of team spirit?

Last Day Luau:  We’re looking to liven it up a little on the last day of the meet with a last day luau.  Bring those island vibes and get ready for a fast last day!
