Coaches and Directors
Hi, I’m Coach Andy. I got here a little differently than most. I have been involved in youth sports … forever it seems. Since 2008, it’s been all swimming with the last 10 as a swim parent with the GLT. I have been a swim parent, assist coach and head coach for a small team in West Bloomfield. While I wasn’t available for their entire careers’ I do take pride in the fact that 6 young kids from that small group of 40 swam their way into college. For the love of the sport, Thank you.
I am Coach Anne; I am the lead coach of the developmental group. I started swimming at the age of 6 for my city pool where I grew up in Iowa, and kept swimming until age 18. While in high school I lifeguarded and taught swim lessons as well. I have been teaching for 15+ years and work for a local school district. I was pulled back to the water a few years ago when my son started swimming with GLT, was asked to coach, and the rest is history. I look forward to working with your swimmers to instill the same love for the water that I have!
“The water is calling; I must swim” or coach swimming as the case may be. My name is EmilyThomas-Cutlip and I have loved the water all my life. I was the shriveled little kid who wouldn’t leave the pool, lake, or ocean (or even Paint Creek in Rochester where I grew up). I began swimming competitively as a freshman for Rochester High School and became a lifeguard and swimming instructor at 15. I also swam at Wayne State University and for USMS (masters), including the 2006 FINA World Championship. For four years, I coached boys and girls varsity swimming at Warren Mott High School. I am a teacher certified in English and Physical Education and have taught both in grades 6-12 throughout my career. My husband Dave and I have five children and our youngest daughter swims for GLT. We also have two Labrador Retrievers who, of course, love swimming! I am excited to coach GLT swimmers toward competitive success – swim fast Tritons!
Hi! My name is Justice and I'm a recent graduate from Southern Connecticut State University where I got my Bachelors of Science in Biology. I swam on GLT starting at the age of 11, and continued to swim for Warren Woods Tower High School, as well as for my college team. While in college I worked my way up to the Division II NCAA Championships where I finished 5th in the 100 Yard Butterfly. I guess I just couldn’t stay away from the pool, and now I can’t wait to help young swimmers reach their goals and strive for greatness in the water.
Hi I’m Katelyn Simenton. I have always loved the water and started swimming competitively with GLT 4 yrs ago. My favorite events are the 100 breast and 200 IM. I attend Dakota High School where I swim on the girls Varsity Team. I am also a member of Key Club and Project Kind. When I’m not in the pool, I am probably hanging out and listening to music. I look forward to helping your swimmer gain confidence and learn to love the sport of swimming
Hi, my name is Nate Yearkey. I have been a part of GLT since I was 9 years old, starting in the novice group. Currently, I am a Senior at Dakota High School. I am a part of Dakota's Varsity Swim Team, with my favorite events being the 50 and 100 freestyle. Last season, I helped Dakota get an all county dream team in the 400 freestyle relay. I look forward to getting to know your swimmer and helping them gain confidence and strength with the sport of swimming.
Hi, I'm Coach Mady! I have been swimming since 7th grade and am in my third year as a Varsity Swimmer on Dakota's Swim and Dive Team. I love working with kids and helping them grow their abilities!
