Swimming & Diving Falls at Home to Howard; Women Claim New Record

EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 14th, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's swim and dive hosted the Howard Bison this afternoon in a dual meet. The men's team lost 161-59, while the women's team fell 156-62.

Timmy Bonner and Jessalyn Powell represented the Mountaineers in the 1-meter diving competition to kick off the day. Bonner finished in second place with a score of 171.2, while Powell finished in third with a score of 121.5.

A quiet day for the Mountaineers as they tallied just two event wins on the day. The women opened the day with a 400-meter medley relay win, notching a time of 4:26.46. The 400-medley swam by Hanna Aggen, Christina Lazari, Maddy Samuels, and Abigail Steckiel stands to be a record setting time in a meter pool in school history. The men found a first-place finish when Aidan Grady won the 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:03.32.
