Region VIII Sectionals – Columbia, MO
We kicked off the Championship season with the Region VIII Sectional Championships. We got 17th Place Overall as a team. Ad Astra was the top scoring team in the Lawrence, Topeka, Manhattan area and the only scoring team in Lawrence.

Ad Astra came to Districts in full force! We were the highest finishing team in the Lawrence, Topeka, Manhattan area. We achieved 63 best times over the weekend out of 96 swims! Nice job Quad-A!

MVS Championships – Topeka, KS
Ad Astra at 73 best times on the way to a 7th Place finish at LSC Champs! Ad Astra was the top scoring team in the Lawrence, Topeka, Manhattan area for the 10th year running. Our group of athletes represented our team and town with great spirit and hard racing. Every single Ad Astra athlete scored in an individual race - nice job swimmers!

NCSA Summer Championships – Indianapolis, IN
Ad Astra was the only team in Lawrence with qualifying athletes. Our ladies swam lights out and truly competed with the best. Our relay performances were season bests, and we came away with a slew of best times. Nice job group!

USA Swimming Central Zones – Lenexa, KS
Our athletes faced harsh conditions as regional athletes from Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Arkansas, North Dakota, and South Dakota swarmed Kansas City for the Central Zone meet. The meet filled past capacity which led to poor air quality and crowded pools. Our swimmers persevered and did their best for team MVS. Ad Astra had 6 athletes attend and were the only team in Lawrence to have athletes qualify for this meet.

USA Swimming Junior Nationals – Irvine, CA
Ad Astra was the only team in the Lawrence, Topeka, Manhattan area to have a qualifying athlete for this meet. This meet features the top 18-U swimmers in the country all in one spot. Lucy swam a great race and gained valuable experience racing the best swimmers in the country.
Lucy Velte finished 83rd in the 50free.
