Register for the Manhattan Marlins Swim Team
Greetings Marlins Swim Families:
After a year of pausing most of our swim activities, it is time to get back to pool and register your swimmer(s) for the summer 2021 swim team. We are ecstatic to be a month away from rebooting the team and starting practices. Please register your swimmer(s) and spread the word to your friends etc. to join the Marlins this summer.
Registration Information:
Register by going to the team website and clicking “register now” on the green tab on the right side of this page: https://www.teamunify.com/Home.jsp?_tabid_=0&team=mvmm
There are two steps:
- To join the Manhattan Marlins and participate in team activities you need to register with USA Swimming. Currently, the annual registration to join USA Swimming is $60. That membership affords the opportunity for that swimmer to compete in any USA Swimming swim meet whatsoever in which that swimmer is eligible to compete. A flex membership can be purchased if competing in 2 meets or less per year for only $20. USA Swimming membership also provides insurance coverage for all members at USA Swimming events.
- The primary costs associated with the Manhattan Marlins are dues. Swim families pay monthly dues from your bank or credit card automatically. An itemized monthly bill & statement is emailed to you. If you participate in swim meets, there are additional costs associated. These meet entry and coach fees also are itemized in your monthly bill.
The Marlins monthly dues are based upon Practice Group Placement in the following amounts starting in June 2021. For the Summer 2021 season, you will only be billed for June & July. Any August practices that we have will be included in these amounts. When registering you can choose a practice group that seems appropriate for your swimmer. Our coaches will determine the appropriate practice group for your swimmer when practices begin. Here are the groups:
Red Group (Minnows): $100/mo. – new swimmers typically 10 and under
White Group: $120/mo. – swimmers learning how to master all four strokes (all ages)
Blue Group: $140/mo. – experienced swimmers advancing in stroke development (all ages)
Platinum Group: $160/mo. – most experienced swimmers typically 13 and up
Masters Group: $100 – adult swimmers
This dues schedule eliminates the need for fundraising to run the club and allows more flexibility for swimmers and families.
PRACTICES
- Swim practices for all age groups will start with the opening of City Park Pool (tentatively last week in May). We plan is to swim during these time frames (these times may shift slightly as we know more about team size and swimmer availability):

As always, if you have ideas or questions, please reach out to anyone on the Marlins board (contact information noted below). In August, we will have our annual team meeting to discuss the Fall 2021 season and approve our budget.
