Platinum & Blue Dryland Update

Hello Swim Families,

Please be aware of the updates to Platinum and Blue dryland for summer 2023.

Platinum Dryland Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, & Thursday; 5:00 - 5:45 pm, Glenn's on Poyntz
    • This is a strict timeline. Workouts will be concise and focused. Get in, get out, get on with your life--and expect to work.
      • Monday = Anterior Strength; Plyometric Circuit; Frontal Core
      • Tuesday = Posterior Chain; Obliques & Rotational Strength; Single-leg Strength & Explosivity
      • Thursday = Total Core; Shoulder & Back Strength/Eccentric Focus; Plyometric Endurance
    • Why is dryland not immediately after swimming? Because, from a physiological standpoint, athletes need a minimum of 4-5 hours rest between intense workouts to receive the full benefit from the second workout. It is more important that the athletes eat and have some downtime (or work, or do whatever they do during the day--volunteer at the 10:50 - 11:50 White and Minnows practice, perhaps), and then later go to dryland. 

Blue Dryland Schedule:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 7:45-ish - 8:30 am, City Park (right after morning swim)
    • Emphasis will be on core strength, sprint/fast-twitch explosivity, and stabilization
    • Athletes must bring tennis shoes, t-shirts or tank-tops, and shorts.
