Please make sure you are on time for warmups! If you are late and miss warmups, there is nothing to be done!
"Best practice" is to arrive at the pool 15 minutes before warmups begin!
Swimmers must provide their own timers and counters for the 500 freestyle. The 500 freestyle will be swum fastest to slowest!
Heat sheets will be available for purchase for $5 each at the meet... all participating families are encouraged to purchase one!
Remember that swimmers are not allowed in the large stands on the east side of the pool—the small stands on the west side are fair game for swimmers and their families. However, swimmers have their own exclusive crash area on the south side of the building.
Parents are not allowed on the south side of the pool deck where the coaches sit and where the swimmers’ crash area is. For reference, the south side of the building is the side the diving boards are on.
If a parent ventures onto the south end of the pool deck, there is a high likelihood that one of the meet officials will kick them out of the facility for the remainder of the competition! This also goes for parents who are certified as USA Swimming coaches or Officials if they are not on a designated coaching roster or volunteering as an official at the meet! (No Marlins parents meet these designations at this competition.)
Also, swimmers are to use the locker rooms for changing and restroom use. Parents are to use the public restrooms, which can be accessed from the lobby between the front doors to the building and the entrance to the pool deck.
Swimmers will have the ability and are encouraged to warm up and warm down before and after their races throughout the meet in the west pool.
As always, there will be a Best Times poster on the south wall of the pool behind where Coach Reid and Coach Myles are stationed. If a swimmer achieves a best time in an event, they get to write their name and the event--and time achieved, if they want--on the poster. When the meet is over, the poster will be awarded to one of the Marlins who competed in the meet!
Coach Kaidnce will be supervising practice at Genesis for those not competing in the meet.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and I'll see you at the pool!
-Coach Reid
