Return to Practice, Spring Updates, and More Big, Exciting News!
Hello Swim Families!
I hope you have all had a wonderful and restful spring break! I am writing to you today with a couple of quick updates and some exciting news.
First, let’s address the basics.
Practices will resume as normal on Monday, March 24. To recap:
- Platinum: 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Monday-Friday; 7:15 – 9:15 am Saturday
- Blue: 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Monday-Friday; 7:15 – 9:15 am Saturday
- White; 6:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday/Wednesday/Friday; 8:15 – 9:15 am Saturday
- Minnows: 6:00 – 7:00 pm, Tuesday/Thursday; 8:15 – 9:15 am Saturday
Our next board meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 25, in the upstairs classroom at Genesis. If you are interested in learning more about the Board of Directors, joining in the future, or would like to make a public comment, you are more than welcome to stop by. The meeting will begin at 6:30 pm.
Our next swim meet will be the Voorhees-Maxfield Invitational at the USD 501 Natatorium in Topeka, April 11-13. Coach Reid will be there all three days. This is the first meet of our long course season, meaning the competition venue is 50 meters—Olympic sized. There are no 25-yard races at this meet, even for the 8 and unders, so be prepared to race nothing shorter than 50 meters at this competition. Registration for the meet is already open on our TeamUnify website.
And now, the exciting part… we have a new Marlins team store on SwimOutlet.com!
Below is a list of items I want every Marlin to get:
- A team suit
- A team mesh bag, there are two options
Each group has its own specified list of required equipment, which can be found at the link above. There are separate pages for Minnows, White, Blue, Platinum, and even Masters. Additionally, there is a great deal of fan wear—swag—that anyone can purchase!
Another exciting thing about this new storefront is that every item sold kicks back a small amount of money to the Marlins, meaning that every purchase helps our team, even if just by a couple of bucks!
I have already made a few purchases and this gear is legit!
I will constantly add more apparel simply because it’s cool.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and I’ll see you at the pool!
-Coach Reid
