Hello Swim Families!

This is a reminder that tomorrow morning we will host our annual Swim-a-Thon fundraiser at Manhattan City Park Pool!

All groups will swim from 7:00 am to 8:45 am.

Parents, we request that you help your swimmer(s) keep track of their laps during practice. Depending on a swimmer's age and experience, they will be aiming for either 100 or 200 laps. That might sound like a lot, though it's actually within the normal range a swimmer does in practice, depending on their group. That said, swimming 100 or 200 laps is a wonderful accomplishment and confidence-builder for young athletes, and every lap swum represents an opportunity to raise money for the Marlins!

Generally speaking, swimmers in the White, Minnows, and Summer League groups will be aiming for 100 laps (2,500 yards) whereas swimmers in Blue, Platinum, and Masters will aim for 200 laps (5,000 yards).

There will be no specific workout; rather, swimmers will be able to swim whatever they want, with or without equipment, until they hit their goal. An optional workout will be provided for our Masters swimmers.

The Swim-a-Thon is also a great opportunity for parents to mingle and speak with our Board of Directors members.

The pool will be set to the short course yards (SCY) format, meaning each lap is 25 yards. This is the normal setup for White, Minnows, and Summer League practices.

Our goal is to raise $7,500 for the team through this fundraiser. At present, we have raised $2,630!

Let's keep up the good work and bring a positive attitude tomorrow and enjoy time with teammates!

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I'll see you at the pool!
