Hello Swim Families!
As we shift into week four of our fall season, we will place a great deal of emphasis on butterfly! Each day, we will focus on a different aspect of the stroke while keeping a constant throughline, that being dolphin kick and body position.
Our conditioning focus will continue to build aerobic endurance and will integrate more race pace and race-specific sets for the older swimmers. In their training block, this week is about endurance, specifically as it applies to the end of a race, and we’ll spice it up with a little bit of lactic acid tolerance on Wednesday!
The younger swimmers will continue to build their aerobic base while also getting a good deal of dolphin kicking in! Week 5 is focused on breaststroke, technically, and will therefore build on some of the technical aspects of week four (this week), even though butterfly evolved from breaststroke! That history lesson will have to wait for another time.
Furthermore, please remember to register your swimmers for our upcoming swim meets! The two swim meets that you may sign up for include the TST Fall Round Up and the WSC Legends Invitational, held in Gladstone, MO, and Wichita, KS, respectively.
Please let me know if you have any questions, and I’ll see you at the pool!
