2024/25 USA Swimming Registration & Team Registration Fees

Good Afternoon,

 

It is once again time to register your athlete(s) with USA swimming. This applies to our Typhoon, Hurricane & Senior swimmers. Prep swimmers that are not YMCA members but wish to swim meets may also register. Prep members that are YMCA members will be eligible for YMCA meets but may also elect to register if they want to participate in USA meets as well. For those electing to or required to register, must complete the process no later than Sunday, September 15th. Follow the instructions below to complete the registration. If you need assistance I will be available to help after practice every evening through the 9th. Once you have completed the registration please review the information on the drafting of team registration fees at the bottom of the email.

Registering an Athlete for 2024-2025 Membership:  Full USA Swimming instructions can be found  here  or a simplified guide can be found below:

 

Step 1: Click  HERE to register as a Blue Wave Swimmer. If your athlete is on free and reduced lunch then they qualify for a discounted membership, use this  OUTREACH link instead.

 

Step 2: Log-in to your existing USA Swimming Account or create a new one if you've never been a USA Swimming Member by selecting Create Login. If creating a log in, follow the instructions below. If a returning member, log in and skip to step 3.

  • You will need an email to receive an email verification code.

  • It does not matter if you have had an account in the past, you must create a new account.

  • This is your account, use your information NOT your swimmers.

  • After creating an account you must login.

  • If you have been an USA swimming member in the past as an official, board members, athlete, etc, you will select yes when asked  Have you ever had a USA Swimming Membership?

  • Selecting yes or no can often take multiple clicks so be sure to confirm the answer before moving on.

  • REMEMBER this is your account not your swimmer, DO NOT ENTER YOUR SWIMMER INFORMATION HERE.

  • Once you complete the Legal Acknowledgements section you will receive the prompt: Who is the membership for?, You may now proceed with step two.

Step 3: Register your Athlete

  • Select: The membership is for someone other than the logged-in user

  • Next, select if your swimmer is a new or returning member.

  • IMPORTANT: If your swimmer has ever been registered as a USA athlete (this does include Northland Conference summer swim) you must select yes when the prompt, Has this person ever had a USA Swimming Membership?, comes up. If not, select no.

  • Use your athletes' information to search for their member ID.

  • NOTE: This is a randomized alphanumeric ID not the old formatted ID, so you will need to follow the steps to look it up.

  • Once the search populates your swimmer, select their name and resume the registration process

  • IF YOU ARE NOT A RETURNING MEMBER, Select no when asked  Has this person ever had a USA Swimming Membership?, and complete the Athlete Information.

  • Once the athlete information is updated and you have listed an emergency contact, you will be asked to select your membership. It is the Premium Membership option.

  • Complete the Race, Gender and Legal sections before moving on to the checkout process

  • The next pages will be a member summary then fee summary

  • At this stage you may complete the registration process or select Add Another Member to add a membership for another athlete

  • Once you have added all your athletes, click continue and you will see a view of your 'cart' and a few selections before finally coming to the payment screen.

  • Complete the payment form with your choice of payment then complete the checkout

  • That's all there is to it!

Once you have completed this process, kick back and relax, you will deserve it.

 

GREAT WORK! Now your swimmer is a USA registered swimmer. If you are a Typhoon, Hurricane or Senior athlete, please continue reading about team registration.

 

The 2024/25 BWST Swimmer Registration Fee of $200 will draft on September 15th. This is an annual fee and includes 2 Team Caps. These fees will run on the card on your YMCA account that your swimmer’s membership drafts from. This is an auto draft process and will charge automatically on the draft date unless you contact us before September 9th to arrange another payment plan. This is the same way meet fees will run this season. We will be reaching out to any participants that do not have a membership that drafts from a card/bank account or whose payment methods are out of date.
