Gigi Brennan joined our coaching staff in the winter of 2022 after coaching seven years in Grand Island. She swam competitively for 12 years for the Grand Island Quicksilver swim team.  She also swam for Grand Island Senior High School Swim Team, specializing in the 100 and 200 Breaststroke and 200 IM and relays. Gigi did not pursue swimming in college, but instead chose to help coach the team she had been a part of her entire swimming career while working on her bachelors and masters degrees in medical nutrition therapy. 

In addition to coaching, she works at Bryan Health as a Licensed Medical Nutrition Therapist and is working to further her clinical career as a dietitian.  

She loves the atmosphere that swimming creates both for the team and individual competitiveness.  She coaches because she loves helping foster others’ competitive abilities.

Megan Ziemann joined our coaching staff in the fall of 2021.

Megan grew up in Texas and started swimming competitively at the age of 7.  She attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she swam all 4 years, specializing in backstroke, butterfly and sprint freestyle.

In addition to coaching, Megan teaches first grade at Adams Elementary School and teaches swim lessons at the YMCA

Jennifer joined our coaching staff in 2016. Jennifer started swimming competitively at the age of 6; however, she didn't dive off the blocks until the age of 8 thanks to an official telling her she would be DQed unless she did so. She thanked him later in life for that push. Thanks to him, she knows the impact a great coach can have on a swimmer’s success.

She attended Hillsdale College, specializing in distance freestyle and butterfly because her coaches wanted her to talk less in practice.  Come find her on deck, she’s always up there to listen and help.  She’ll talk your ear off about swimming (and Taylor Swift).

Jennifer loves working with all ages of swimmers and helping them discover their love of the sport.

In addition to coaching, Jennifer works at West Gate Bank.

Coach Lillian joined the Select coaching staff in 2024. 

She attended Pius X High School in Lincoln, where she swam on the varsity team for all four years. 

Lillian now attends UNL, where she is studying to become a nurse.

Averi Kolb joined our coaching staff in the fall of 2021 after coaching at the Beatrice YMCA.  She started her swimming career for a local YMCA club team when she was in elementary school and made the jump to USA swimming when she was older.  She competed on the varsity swim team all four years of high school and attended the River Cities Conference Championships and NSAA State.  

Averi is currently enrolled at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln studying Athletic Medicine.  In addition to coaching, she also works with the University of Nebraska sports teams at a student athletic trainer and a nursing assistant at a local care unit in Lincoln.

Coach Nikki joined the Select coaching staff in 2013.  

Nikki attended Lincoln Southeast High School from 2003-2007 where she specialized in sprint freestyle and breaststroke. During this time she spent summers coaching in Lincoln.

Nikki attended college at TCU, where she swam on their swim team and majored in Education.

In addition to leading Lincoln Select, Nikki is also an instructional coach with Lincoln Public Schools.
