ATOMites Pre Team Info:

Think it's too soon to be thinking about summertime? WE DON'T!

Looking for tune-up for your 6-10 year old swimmer to get ready for the summer? WE WILL GET YOU READY!

NO tryout needed, but you DO need to be able to swim a 25 yard (1 lap) of freestyle without stopping... AND WE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE REST!

No matter what your swimming goals are... WE WANT TO HELP GET YOU THERE!

We have restructured our ATOMites (pre team) program and it no longer requires a tryout! This program is for swimmers 6-10 years old. Our next session begins Monday, March 2 and will go through Wednesday, May 6. ATOMites meets Mondays and Wednesday, 4:30-5:15pm at Fairmeadows (near Southpark Mall 2800 Eastburn Rd.)

WHAT TO EXPECT AT OUR  COMPETITIVE TEAM TRYOUT:

  1. Swimmers should arrive ready to swim.  This includes suit on, goggles and a cap if your swimmer is a girl- cap is optional for boys.  If you need to use the locker room afterwards, you are welcome to.

  2. We are here to see HOW your swimmer swims, not how fast.  Kids can be nervous when they are coming in and we like to assure them that we know they are giving their best effort and they may still be learning some of the skills we ask of them 

  3. Tryouts will take place at either MCAC (uptown pool)

  4. Every interested swimmer must try-out, this includes swimmers interested in our ATOMites program.

  5. Please keep in mind the competitive team is NOT a swimming lessons program- ATOMites might be a better fit (see info above for that). We require a level of swimming experience depending on age for the team. While this looks different at different ages, the cometitive team is not a "learn to swim program".

  6. Minimum age for the competitive group structure is 7. The requirments for each age group varies dependent on age.

  7. You are trying out for ANY ATOM age-appropriate competitive team group that your swimmer is eligible for. For example, if your swimmer is 8, we evaluate them for both swim team groups where an 8 year may fit in (Purple or White groups). So it is possible your swimmer is either too advanced or not ready for what they are trying out for.
