Special Statement

Lisa Woods

Many of you may already know or soon will become aware of yet again another national news story involving charges of abuse stemming from within youth sports.  Sadly this time it is coming from within the cheerleading industry.

As this story, out of South Carolina unfolds, we want to ensure all our athletes and families that we at Oxford Cheer Elite will NOT be silent.  And we encourage our families to do the same.  It's tremendously sad when things like this occur.  We are all angry, saddened, disgusted and confused.

Our goal at OCE is to empower, not only our athletes but also our families.  We choose to lead with honesty, transparency & integrity. Please, speak with your athletes.  Teach them to use their voice.  Do not be afraid, let them know that they matter and what they have to say or think is important.

Whether it be at school, home, the gym, church, wherever!  They are not, under any circumstance, to accept abuse of any kind, from anyone, at any time!  We want to break the stigma that prohibits children from speaking up!  Lets encourage and teach proper communication skills to our youth!

We at OCE want each family, athlete, coach, and member to know that they are valued and loved unconditionally.  As mothers ourselves we look to protect all our athletes.  We take great honor and recognize the huge responsibility you trust us with when you put your athlete in our care.  And because of that, all of our staff and guest instructors are deeply vetted, highly profressional and well trained.

The doors of communication are always open and we welcome discussion and questions around all topics, especially the difficult ones.
Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to develop, lead and inspire your athletes.
