Colfax Pool

The Colfax public pool opens in early June and closes in mid-August. Colfax is proud to be the smallest ND city with a publicly managed pool.

Weather permitting, the pool is typically open daily from 12:00 - 5:00 & 6:30 - 9:00, and occasionally a Friday evening night swim from 9:00 - 11:00 for an additional fee. For weather-related closings, please refer to our Facebook page for closing announcements

The pool can be reserved for private parties for a fee of $75 dollars. Please contact Mary Boehm ( 701.793.3292 ) for reservations, refer to the calendar for possible available dates.

Pool fees are available for a single day's use, or for a season pass for an individual or family (college-aged students if living at home). Click on the link at the top of the page and fill out the registration and choose to pay online with a credit card or ACH charge, or pay at the pool with a check.

Swimming Lessons

Swimming lessons are offered twice during the summer season. Each session is ten days (M-F) over a two-week period. Lessons are guided by the American Red Cross program with six available levels. Swimmers must be 4 years old by June 1st to enter level 1. Refer to program signup for availability: Swim Lesson Registration

All instructors are certified under the American Red Cross

Rules:
Shower before entering the pool
NO goggles/noodles/floaties allowed
NO bystanders (parents, guardians, or other kids) on the pool deck during lesson hours
The baby pool is closed during lesson hours

 

Level 1

  • Enter and Exit the water using the ladder by themselves
  • Blow bubbles using your nose and mouth
  • Bobbing
  • Able to submerge and pick up an item

Level 2

  • Fully submerge and hold your breath
  • Front and back floats
  • Glides on front and back

Level 3

  • Enter the water by diving from your knees or standing
  • Tread water for 30 seconds
  • Float (front and back)
  • Will Learn:
    • Front crawl
    • Backstroke
    • Elementary Backstroke

Leve 4

  • Improve standing dives
  • Surface Dives
  • Tread Water for 1 minute
  • Float(front and back) for 1 minute
  • Will Learn:
    • Front crawl
    • Backstroke
    • Elementary Backstroke
    • Breaststroke
    • Sidestroke

Level 5

  • Surface Dives
  • Tread Water for 2 minutes
  • Float(front and back) for 2 minutes
  • Will Learn:
    • Front crawl
    • Backstroke
    • Elementary Backstroke
    • Breaststroke
    • Sidestroke

Level 6

  • Tread Water for 3 minutes
  • Float(front and back) for 2 minutes
  • Improve:
    • Front crawl

Youth Baseball & Softball

The summer youth baseball and softball teams play and compete as the Colfax Classics. The teams practice and play at Wold Field on the west edge of town, north of County Hwy 4

The summer recreational program is designed to allow participants to build the skills of the sport, but more importantly, build teamwork and sportsmanship skills.

Various teams are available with age groups ranging from 5-12
