week #2 of our 2025/2026 Short Course Season for our Age Group and Developmental Teams...focus on Freestyle for week #2

(it is ALWAYS a tough start getting Age Group & Developmental swimmers into the groove...equipent, lane assignments, listening and working together...it will get better as the season progresses...Thank-you! for your understanding)

 

NEW Information:

  • Senior Team morning practice @Moorhead High School (MHS) this week on Monday, Wednesday & Friday 6:00am - 7:30am               
  • Senior Team morning practice @Hulbert Aquatic Center (HAC) this week on Tuesday & Thursday 5:30am - 7:00am               
  • PLEASE check the schedule weekly for the most up-to-date practice schedule
  • we will not have access to the boys lockeroom at the beginning of practice PLEASE have boys come with suits on / if that is not an option boys may reach out to the coaching staff to get access to a changing area / boys lockeroom will be available at the end of ALL practices
  • I spoke last week at our parents meeting...I talked about Charlie Kirk and 911...it came to my attention following the meeting that I had offended a couple families on the team...I WANT TO APOLOGIZE FOR OFFENDING ANYONE ON THE TEAM...my intentions were not to offend anyone...I got to discuss things with one of our families in person...I'd like to believe that I listened to their perspective as they communicated it to me and gave me things to read and listen to...after listening, reading and watching information that was given to me...I feel I understand their perspective and differences between us much better...I would ask the forgiveness of ANY I have offended...I am open to in person discussions as any would like for listening, learning and to better understand different ideas and opinions...Thank-you!  Respectfully, Coach Pat

General Information:​

  • ALL swimmers MUST be registered with Marlins Swimming of The NORTHERN LIGHTS (NLSA) & USA Swimming in order to practice.
  • Swimmers NOT registered with BOTH the Marlins & USA Swimming will not be able to practice, or they must register online at the pool in order to practice.  NO EXCEPTIONS...Thank you!
  • Swimmers that will be in 7th grade this fall '25 / register with the Senior Team (reach out to Coach Pat if you have questions)​

Protocols for Practice:

  • Practices at Moorhead High School (2300 4th Avenue S, Moorhead, MN 56560)  
    Enter thru the MAIN SCHOOL entrance to Moorhead High School door#19 (thru doors past weight room, turn right down the hallway to the pool on the left…use door by coaches office to enter the pool) which is a turn left down the hallway once you get to the pool
     
  • Illness -  PLEASE keep your swimmer(s) home from practice if they are running a fever, are nauseous, vomiting, or may be contagious to others. β€‹Thank you for working with us to keep everyone safe and maintain our opportunity to swim!!
  • DROP OFF/PICK UP at the POOL-

              1. Please wait until your swimmer(s) are inside the school doors / pool doors before leaving when dropping them off. 
                 We want to ensure the doors are open at the school / pool before your swimmers are left at the pool without a ride home

              2. Please come inside to pick them up as we have our swimmer(s) wait inside the school/ pool area.

 

Practice Attendance Expectations:

  • Senior Team (no limit on weekly practice attendance / would like at least 3 / practice attendance should be reflective of GOALS!)
  • Age Group Team (up to 5 practices weekly / would like at least 3)
  • Developmental Team (up to 3 practices weekly)

  • NO PRACTICE
  • due to Moorhead High School ~SPUDS~ dual meet vs Sheyenne MUSTANGS
  • 6pm start
