Important Winter Session Reminders

North Irvine Water Polo Club

Dear North Irvine Water Polo Families,


The Northwood High School Aquatics Center will open on December 1, 2024, after over a year of being down. This means we will now add Northwood High School as a training facility.


As we move forward into the Winter season, here are a few key reminders to help everyone stay prepared and ready:


Automatic Enrollment for Current Members


Current members will automatically be enrolled for Winter (no action necessary, the next billing cycle is December 1, 2024).  If you choose to opt out please notify us by November 22, 2024, at the latest. New members are welcome, with limited space available in each age group (a tryout will be necessary, please email for more details).


Open Tryouts and Team Placement for 16U and 18U Boys


To help place athletes on A and B teams, tryouts will be held for 16U and 18U teams on the following dates:

        •       16U: Nov. 12, 13, 18, 20

        •       18U: Nov. 12, 14, 19, 21

Location: Woollett Aquatics Center, 7:00–8:30 PM (meet on deck, far right)


No registration with NIWPC is needed for tryouts, but an active USA Water Polo membership is required. Priority goes to those already registered.


Winter Practice Schedule (As of December 1, 2024)


Practices will run Monday through Thursday with occasional Fridays for select groups.  We will continue with the schedule of the week which is emailed, and posted on social media outlets each week.  Times/locations are subject to change:

        •       10U Coed & 11U Boys: 4–6 PM at Woollett

        •       12U Boys & Girls: 4:30–6:30 PM at Northwood High School

        •       14U Girls & Boys Star: 5:30–8 PM at Woollett

        •       14U Boys Sting & HS Boys: 6–8:30 PM at Northwood High School


Reminder: NO PRACTICE on Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Day


Tournament Fees and Team Selection


Tournament/League fees will vary (depending on leagues entered "Spa League, Futures League TBD, Year of the Snake, Kap7, Turbo Cup are $170 per tournament). 


Coaches will be selecting rosters for games. Each coach will choose players from their age group to participate in tournaments and/or leagues. If selected, you will receive a tournament registration link.


New Members


New members are required to pay a one-time registration fee of $150 (not applicable for Pre-Training). Please remember to include your shirt and suit sizes upon registration.


Monthly dues for Winter:

        •       12U and Up: $240/month (Winter session commitment)

        •       10U Coed: $225/month (Winter session commitment)

        •       Pre-Training: $185/month (monthly subscription)
