Weekend Reflections and Next Steps
Hi Team,
As I reflect on this past weekend, I’m reminded that you can’t skip steps in the journey of growth. Everything we do is built on strong foundations, and the more you show up and put in the work, the more you build.
Here’s my feedback for each group:
14U Girls
Your next phase of development is mental. It’s all about how you see yourselves. Confidence is key—and right now, I didn’t see it in the game. Another major concern is practice attendance. It’s been very poor, and this is holding back your progress. Consistent attendance is essential to build the confidence and skills you need to succeed.
12U Girls
Your team spirit is incredible, and your improvement is evident. The key moving forward is maintaining consistency in your performance.
10U (Playing in the 12U Division)
You were amazing! Brave little athletes taking on a challenge and showing grit. Keep it up!
11U and 11s (Playing with 12U Black)
Very impressive performances! The focus now is on improving your speed. Keep pushing yourselves.
16U Boys – Modified Black Team
Impressive wins! Your coach was pleased with the progress and improvements. Let’s keep building on that momentum.
12U Boys Black
You pushed hard, taking Del Mar (the eventual champs) to a shootout and beating SoCal Black, CDM, and Patriot Navy—outstanding!
From here on out, no excuses for losing. We enter every game with a winning mindset, no matter the outcome.
14U Boys
You’re gaining momentum and turning the corner. Some wins, some losses, but noticeable improvement. Right now, we’re at the bottom of the Platinum Division and Gold Division (respectively). The goal is to move to the middle and then to the top by summer. Keep grinding—your hard work is paying off!
Important Update for All Groups
The coaches have requested to begin taking attendance at every practice. Moving forward, playing time will be influenced by your attendance and commitment. Showing up consistently is key to earning your spot and contributing to your team’s success.
Let’s build on this weekend’s lessons and keep working toward our goals. I’m proud of the effort you’re putting in—let’s stay focused and keep improving!
Best,
Ed Carrera
