Class Descriptions & Schedule Below

Little Tumblers

The little tumblers class is for athletes ages 3-5. This class teaches tumbling, coordination, and balance while building confidence. Athletes will work through obstacle courses, tumbling drills and games for the 45 min class.

Level 1/2

Level 1/2 is the beginner level class where athletes will harness the fundamentals of tumbling. It is a slow-paced class where athletes learn the basics such as: handstand, cartwheel, round-off, forward/back walkover, forward/backward roll, forward/back limber, and back handspring. When the athlete demonstrates mastery in these skills and can perform handspring series running and standing, they can advance to the level 2/3 class.

Level 2/3

Level 2/3 is the intermediate level class where athletes will put the fundamentals of tumbling and apply them to more advanced skills. Athletes should have a solid back handspring to be in this class. This class is a higher pace than the 1/2 class and provides instruction towards perfecting back handsprings and learning back tuck technique. When the athlete demonstrates mastery in understanding back tuck technique, they will move onto the Level 3/4 class.

Level 3/4

Level 3/4 is the intermediate level class where athletes will put the fundamentals of tumbling into intricate combinations. This is a medium-paced class where athletes will learn combinations and new skills such as: back tuck, layout, punch-front, and combinations like round-off, back handspring, tuck. When the athlete demonstrates mastery of skills such as the layout they can move into the Level 4/5 class.

Level 4/5

Level 4/5 is the highest-level class that an athlete can participate in here at MAC. In this class, the athlete will learn twisting skills such as fulls, doubles, Arabians, and other advanced skills. This is a high-paced class where athletes will receive less spotting in comparison to the other classes. Athletes are expected to be able to do high level skills on their own such as back tucks, layouts, front tucks, and front handsprings.

Open Gym

Open gym is a one hour session where anyone can come to work on any skill they want. The environment is open and relaxed, so the athlete does not feel pressured. We offer full range spotting from back walkovers to fulls.

TUMBLING & STUNTING PRIVATE LESSONS

TUMBLING CLASS & ANY PRIVATE LESSONS INFORMATION & POLICIES

We are excited your child is a part of our program. Our coaches have limited time slots so please make sure that your lesson is a priority.

Please remember that private lessons are usually done in conjunction with classes to optimize results along with the physical and mental strength of your athlete. The more your child puts into tumbling, the more your child will get out of it.

Every child is important to our program. We will set goals for your child and help them achieve tumbling success while having fun and increasing their tumbling confidence. Our coaches are trained with the latest tumbling drills and progressions that are taught to ensure your child’s progress and safety.

All athletes must be registered at either Meadowlands Athletic Center or Meadowlands Starz.

Fees will be collected at the start of the first class.  This includes classes as well as private lessons and open tumbling.  Thank you for your trust and support.

Yearly registration fees for Tumbling are (1 athlete $45, 2 athletes $85, 3 athletes $115). If you are a member of Meadowlands Starz the tumbling registration fee is waived.

Registration fee and 8 weeks of class payment due on the first day of class.
Classes may be subject to change.

Classes may be added as needed!

MAKE UP CLASSES:

Athletes may take make-up class for any class that they were absent for or missed due to holiday closings.  No further credits or refunds are issued for missed classes.

Make-up classes do not carry over from session to session. (2 make ups allowed per session)

In case of snow-please call the gym or check our social media pages.  We usually close if schools are not in session.  If roads are cleared by the afternoon, we will then be open.  Any classes missed because of snow or inclement weather may be made up at your convenience.  No further credits are given.

PRIVATE LESSONS:

All scheduling must be done through the main office of Meadowlands Athletic Center for any of the instructors coaching at MAC. If you have an existing relationship prior to the policy change in September, then that can continue as such. You may not contact a coach to set up outside of the gym as schedules are done in the office for floor space and other events.

Lessons can be scheduled

or via email ALL requests can be sent to [email protected]

We have strict policies in place to help our gym and classes run smoothly.

*All cancellations for private lessons need to be done 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made within 24 hours are subject to full price of lesson costs due to inconvenience. If your child is sick after 24 hours, you must contact us immediately and we will make sure to cancel the lesson.

Once there are two no shows within a 24 hour notice your child will be dropped from our private lesson program.

If you have an outstanding unpaid balance with the gym, you may not schedule private lessons until the balance is paid.

Stretching and working on basic skills at home will help your child progress. Our staff has been trained with the latest and most effective teaching methods. If you would like your child to progress faster, then they need to add a second day of tumbling. Tumbling two times a week whether it is in a class or private lessons will produce faster results with skills, stamina, and strength. Stretching and conditioning at home for 15 minutes a day is very beneficial.

We take your trust in our coaches and our program very seriously. Please remember that if your child fears a tumbling skill then it likely needs improvement in technique and more time for consistency. We do not recommend that you spot your child at home. They are taught without a spot 90% of the time and this method creates better results without a mental “dependence” on a spotter to perform their skills safely. Our coaches will always spot them if it is needed when they are learning a new skill. We will push your athletes to do their skills when they are ready! Trust the process and your athlete will soar with success and confidence.
