MYM 2/7 News
Dear Team,
A huge congratulations to all of our swimmers who competed this past weekend at the Bronze Championships! I thought it was an incredible weekend for our athletes from all of our age groups on many levels. Our athletes defined toughness in their races, and I was pleased to see our teammates supporting each other throughout the meet. For some of you, this was your first championship meet, so way to go!
The results were extremely impressive! MYM had 10 first place finishers at the meet, 27 top three finishers, with 16 new Silver Champ event qualifiers and 1 State Champ cut achieved!
It looked like nearly every swimmer on our team had at least some lifetime best swims. And the results showed I wasn’t mistaken. I’ve attached a report in which you can see the improvement for our swimmers’ events from the meet. The baseline times were the best times our swimmers posted throughout the season, while the times two columns to the left show those from Bronze.
Here are our Bronze event winners:
Logan Codi, Jameson De Los Reyes (2x), Jaxon De Los Reyes, Emilian Quezada, Colette Smokowski, Alex Tinapay (2x), Edith Wong (2x)
New Silver Champs Event Qualifiers:
Nathan Birnbaum (2x), Logan Codi, Jakob De Los Reyes, Jameson De Los Reyes (2x), Jaxon De Los Reyes, Xavier Guo, Sophie Gyan, Emilian Quezada, Colette Smokowski (2x), Alexa Tinapay, Edith Wong (3x)
New State Champ Event Qualifier:
Alexa Tinapay
Our top 8 finishers at Bronze were awarded ribbons. The coaches will put them on a table at the start of practices for you to pick them up.
As always, thanks so much to all our volunteer parents and our wonderful coaches for your passion and dedication to our team!!
We're looking forward to the rest of the championship meets of course.
Go Dolphins!
Coach Kyle
