Coaches and Directors
Kyle has been coaching the Dolphins since 2019. He is passionate about making a positive impact on every swimmer he coaches while hoping to inspire their athletic, social, and emotional growth. He is eager to give back to the sport that transformed his own personal development and build a legacy of excellence in the Montclair and surrounding communities.
As a youth in Worcester, MA, he swam for the Greendale YMCA, the Worcester Swim Club, Worcester Academy, and Greenwood Memorial and was a top performer throughout New England. He swam all four years in college at Columbia University helping the Lions in the distance freestyle, butterfly, and individual medley events and then went on to compete for the New York Athletic Club where his teams won several National Championships in the 5K Open Water race.
Kyle was also a 4th Grade Teacher recently in the area. This following a long and successful career as a Global Sales Leader at Lionbridge Legal, formerly Geotext Translations.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in History from Columbia and has a Level 3 ASCA credential. He has four children, loves playing golf, and still competes in Open Water swimming races.
Coach Madison has been working for the YMCA since 2019 and
joined the Dolphins team in 2022. She decided to start coaching to
provide young athletes a fun yet challenging environment to improve
their skills. "The rewards are going to come, but my
happiness is just loving the sport and having fun performing." -

She was a competitive swimmer for 10 years swimming for her YMCA
team and Summer League. Madison has been coaching competitive
swim since 2014 as an assistant coach with the Greater Scranton
YMCA, Pacers Aquatic Club, and was the Head Varsity Swimming and
Diving Coach at Abington Heights High School for 2 years. In
her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking with her dogs, skiing,
and swimming.
Maddie is currently a graduate student at Montclair State University studying School Counseling. She recently graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Human Resource Management.
Maddie was a competitive swimmer growing up in Parsippany New Jersey, where she swam for a club team, summer swimming, and was her high school’s varsity captain. Her specialty was the 50 and 100 free. Maddie has been coaching and teaching swim lessons since she was a freshman in high school, and she loves helping new and young swimmers learn the foundations of strokes. She looks forward to getting to know everyone and seeing swimmers improve throughout the season!
Emily is a former Cougar Aquatics and Montclair Dolphins swimmer. She swam competitively for 11 years and started coaching and giving swim lessons her junior year of high school. Her specialty races were the 400 IM and the 500 free.
She is currently a college student majoring psychology in the hopes of working in sports psychology. She loves creating a supportive and motivational environment for swimmers!

D’Vonte is a current Firefighter / EMS professional in the Air Force Air National Guard as a Sergeant, and is currently a competitive swimmer for USMS and has been swimming for 24 plus years. He grew up in South Florida and started swimming club at 8 years old. Having reached the Division 1 Level for swimming in college at Saint Peter’s University, he knew coaching was his calling. In addition to being a Fireman, he is also a Master Instructor at the Y with a strong technique driven focus. His main events are the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 brest. In his free time, he enjoys climbing, backpacking, surfing, skateboarding, flying airplanes, and of course, swimming! He loves spending time with his loving wife and funny cat.




Connor, a former swimmer for the YMCA of Montclair Dolphins and the Lakeland Hills YMCA, is a current senior at Tufts University. He is majoring in Computer Science while also competing as a member of the Tufts Swimming and Diving team.
His swimming career consists of years with YMCA of Montclair
(2013-2021), and then finishing off his Y years with Lakeland Hills
(2021-2022). Highlights consist of placing 4th in the 200 Breast at
the 2021 USA Swimming Futures Championships in Richmond, VA and
obtaining various team records in the Breaststroke and IM events
for the Montclair Dolphins.
Outside of the pool, Connor is an avid baseball fan, with his
favorite team being the Philadelphia Phillies. In addition, he is
also a coaster enthusiast who knows plenty about different
amusement parks and water parks across the globe.
