New Team Record, National Cuts, Top 10 and Holiday Meet recap

Congratulations on 2 great weekends of racing at both Short Course Junior Nationals and the Holiday Classic Invitational.   We had 10 swimmers attend SC Junior Nationals:   Iris Kim, Stephanie Kim, Josie Marino, Emma Pereira, Daniel Choi, Gavin Del Fierro, Oliver Kiss, Yuriel Lee, Ryker Levi and Akay Say.  Iris Kim had 2 evening swims at SC Junior Nationals – 400 IM and 200 Free and placed 14^th in the 1000 Free and 12^th in the 1650 Free and Emma Pereira had an evening swim in the 200 fly placing 15^th overall and placed 15^th in the 1000 Free.

At Holiday Classic, our team won the meet by over 2000 points and won both the Women’s and Men’s division of the meet.  

Some Highlights include:  a NJ Swimming LSC record in the 1000 Free for 13/14 boys by Gavin Del Fierro (9:21.17), a New Team Record in the Men’s 100 Fly - :47.67 by Ryker Levi, a New Summer Junior National cut in the 1650 free by Josie Marino (16:40.19), and a New Winter Junior National cut in the 1000 free by Ava Lan (10:09.18).

We had a number of Open event winners including: Iris Kim in the 200 IM, Stephanie Kim in the 100 breast and 200 breast, Josie Marino in the 500 free, 1000 free and 1650 free, Emma Pereira in the 400 IM, Daniel Choi in the 1650 Free, Ryker Levi in the 100 free, and 100 fly.

In addition, Chase Kim won multiple 13/14 events including: the 200 fly (1:52.83), 200 free (1:44.36), 200 back (1:53.99), 200 IM (1:56.16).
