MICHELLE ROAQUE

DIRECTOR OF TAP, ADULT BALLET, JUNIOR BALLET

Michelle was born and raised in Taos, NM and started dance when she was four years of age at the Bette Winslow Dance Studio. She has trained under Bette Winslow, Ludmilla Hart, Amber Vasquez, Olga Biagas and Sheila Ross. Training in many forms of dance including Jazz, Tap, Modern, Theatrical dance her ultimate favorite is Ballet and Pointe. She graduated from Taos High School in 2007, she then went to pursue her degree at Eastern New Mexico University. She graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in University Studies with an emphisis in Theater and Dance. When she moved back home from college she also pursued education in Integrative Massage Therapy at UNM-Taos. In 2013 she became licensed in the state of New Mexico. Dance has been apart of her life for 23 years, four of which she has been teaching. Michelle has also had the opportunity to choreograph for Taos Children’s Theater for the last three years. She is excited to work with the community and enjoys incorporating her love of dance and movement in her classes, and is now employed here at Taos Youth Ballet as a dance instructor of Ballet and Tap.
