NCAT Volunteer Committees

Eric Peterson

Dear NCAT Families:

We're excited to launch our first season and to engage all families so that our team succeeds in and out of the pool.

As you know, each NCAT family is expected to volunteer a minimum of 10 hours per year (see the NCAT Family Involvement Policy). There are many ways to accomplish this — families can serve all of their volunteer hours during NCAT-hosted swim meets or through a combination of service at swim meets and on a committee.

Please note that all families are expected to volunteer at NCAT-hosted meets during sessions in which their swimmer is swimming. Sessions typically run 4-5 hours and volunteers must be available for the entire session. Please mark your calendars for the short-course season meets listed below:

  • November 12, 2022, NCAT Fall Breakout Meet @ Solon HS — Swimmers with slower than National Age Group BB times)

  • December 2-4, 2022, TYR NCAT Invitational @ CSU — This is one of the area's largest invitational meets, drawing 1,000 swimmers annually. All NCAT families are expected to volunteer at this meet.

  • February 26, 2023, NCAT Regional Meet @ Solon HS

In addition to volunteering at NCAT swim meets, families also may choose to serve as a member on an NCAT Committee. Service on each of the following committees/positions counts as 5 service hours (please visit this SignUp Genius to sign up):

  • A 6-member meet committee (3 Solon/3 Shaker) who work together to organize meets, manage volunteer signups, etc.

  • A 4-member social committee (2 Solon/2 Shaker) who organize team social events

  • A 4-member apparel committee (2 Solon/2 Shaker)

  • A 6-member training group committee (3 Solon/3 Shaker, plus one Masters swimmer) who assist coaches as needed with communications, posting meet results, etc.

  • A 6-member members committee (3 Solon/3 Shaker) who share duties of recruiting new members, welcoming new members, and organizing tryouts.

  • Team records managers (1 Solon/1 Shaker) to update team records and record board

  • Equipment managers (1 Solon/2 Shaker) who helps with equipment needs at each pool

  • Registration managers (1 Solon/1 Shaker) who register new members and monitor USA Swimming and coaches' certifications.

Thank you in advance for your time and service on behalf of our NCAT team and swimmers. Your efforts make a difference for our swimmers and directly impact the short- and long-term success of our team!

Sincerely,
Eric Peterson
