Bobcats,

STATE CHAMPIONS! STATE CHAMPIONS! STATE CHAMPIONS! That sure does have a nice ring to it!!! For the first time in the team's history, we are state champions! Just wait until you see the three HUGE trophies that are now in Athens! A MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS goes to the 15 and over swimmers who competed this past weekend at the Senior State Championship! You all put on a show with massive time drops and you should be VERY proud of this accomplishment! JUST OUTSTANDING!!!

1. SENIOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MEET RESULTS:

The results file has not yet been released, so all of this good news comes to you via Meet Mobile!

The "Swimmer of the Meet" is Eli Watkins! EVERY event Eli swam was a best time- he was a perfect 6 for 6! His biggest drop came in the 1500 Free where he dropped over 33 seconds! Eli will get his new cap at practice tonight! to honor his performance! Make sure you congratulate him on his outstanding weekend of racing!

Eleven team records were broken during the championship, too! These Bobcats just added their names to the record book:

Nico Benencia: 17-18 Boys 200 IM

Jack Benyei: 15-16 Boys 50 Breast, 100 Breast, 200 Breast

The achievements our senior swimmers are accomplishing will set the tone for the team for years to come and serve as an inspiration for the younger Bobcats! Keep up the good work as you elevate BSC to new heights!

2. FUTURES CHAMPIONSHIP,  MEET RESULTS:

Levi Morr competed in Greensboro, North Carolina over the weekend at the Futures Championship. This was Levi's first experience at a national meet so he learned a lot about preparation, both physically and mentally, on a stage of this magnitude. Those lessons will serve him well as he looks for many more opportunities to compete nationally.

Levi set two new team records in the 15-16 Boys 50 Fly and 50 Back events!

Congratulations for qualifying for this meet and swimming so FAST!

3. ZONES CHAMPIONSHIP, AUG. 7-10, HOLLAND, MICHIGAN:

Two Bobcats have qualified to compete for TEAM OHIO at the Central Zones Championship! Dani Ulloa and Lucas Watkins posted AAA times and will join the other 163 top swimmers from Ohio as they compete against teams from Illinois, Lake Erie, Michigan, Missouri Valley, and Wisconsin.

The USA Central Zone Championships is an All-Star format held each August where athletes represent their Local Swimming Chapters (LSCs).  There are sixty LSC’s in the country organized into four (4) USA-Swimming Zones  – Central, Eastern, Western, and Southern.  Ohio is one of fifteen (15) Local Swimming Chapters (LSCs) in the Central Zone.
