REGIONALS + MINI MEET RECAP

Jessica Thomas

Our Alpha group kicked off our Championship week with the  Mini Meet! We had 25 Seahawks represent CAC at the Mini Meet & the swimmers saw 72% LTB (75 LTB swims overall). There were a lot of heat winners, hot heat prizes, and  many memories made by all!

Five days later we had our high school swimmers competing in the OHSAA Southwest District Meet where we had 16 Seahawks racing  at Miami University! Across both Divisions we  saw 96% improvements from Sectionals to Districts! We wish Logan Bass, Caroline Mulvihill,  Sophie  Tindale, and PJ Varatta all the best at  the OHSAA State Meet in Canton, Ohio!

Our 14 & Under swimmers kept the momentum going at St Xavier HS  during  the OSI Regionals. During Day 1 at the Prelims session we saw 80% LTB! (100 LTB swims) The 10 & unders continued the great  start wit  36/47 swims being LTB. We ended Day 1 with 17 new Junior Championship cuts, 29 top-3 finishes,  & eleven winners across all age groups!

The high level swimming and cheering did not stop there - the swimmers kept their momentum up with 81% LTB at the end ofDay 2, 17  new Junior  Championship cuts, 24 top-3 finishers, and nine Regional winners!

We finished the meet with the best day yet!  Finals swims were a 79.4% improvement from Prelims for the 11 & overs - which is amazing coming off a 4 sessions, swimming multiple races, and warm up/downs. The final stats for Day 3 were 80% LTB, 25 top-3 finishers, eight Regional winners, & 21 new Junior Championship cuts.  The TEAM ended with 3,230.5  points (up 75.5 points) & 76% of the team scoring! This allowed CAC to come in 2nd place!

Reflecting on the last week and a half - the coaching staff feels confident in saying we had some of the best spirit and fun had at every meet. From our high school swimmers cheering their CAC teammates on at Districts, to all of the swimmers standing behind lanes cheering on their teammates in the 200 Fly, 1650 Free, 200 Backstrokes,  giving each other hugs and high fives after their races. As a coaching staff - we had so much to be proud of! Congratulations on another successful championship meet. Thank you for allowing us to be apart of your swimmers lives!
