About our Team
Pacers Aquatic Club (PACE) is a parent-run, non-profit, USA Swimming Club and member of the MIddle Atlantic LSC (Local Swim Committee). We currently rent pool time at Marywood University and our practices are held at the Marywood University Aquatic Center in Scranton, Pennsylvania. We are a USA Swim Club that welcomes swimmers ages 5 to college age (18+ years) and of all ability levels. The minimum requirement is that a swimmer can swim one length of the pool unassisted. Pacers Aquatic Club currently operates in two distinct seasons, Spring/Summer (May through August) and Fall/Winter (September through April). We are not a learn to swim program. We are a competitive swim club that trains with the ultimate training goal for each swimmer to become the best competitive swim version of themselves. We compete in meets that do require some travel commitment. We compete in meets in the Middle Atlantic LSC. Meets are not required, but are highly encouraged. Having swimmers compete in meets is the single best measure of how our team and swimmers are improving. It also offers our coaching staff an insight to what we need to work on during practices and training sessions. Each LSC has their own governing body and their own set of operating guidelines. As a member of the Middle Atlantic LSC we are obligated to abide by their policies and guidelines. We are also obligated to follow the guidelines and policies of USA Swimming. These organizations place the safety of your swimmers as their greatest priority.

About our Coaches
The Pacers Aquatic Club Coaches are held to very high standards by our own organization and those that we are affiliated with. Our coaches have to maintain multiple certifications in the areas of coaching, concussion protocols, athlete protection, coach's advantage training, lifeguarding, cpr, first aid, and AED use. They are screened each year and have to pass multiple background checks. Pacers Aquatic Club offers a safe and welcoming environment to all swimmers from multiple communities here in NEPA. Our coaching staff is comprised of some of the best coaches in NEPA and the state. They are paid professionals. They volunteer some of their time, but they are compensated for their coaching time at practices and meets.

About our Board and Parent Involvement
Our organization is run by a parent board of volunteers including president, vice president, treasurer and secretary. The head coach and typically an assistant coach sits on the board as well. The board positions require parents to become non-athlete members of USA Swimming, to complete the USA Swimming background check, and Athlete Protection Training annually. The board meets at least once a month and more often when necessary. The board members are responsible for many aspects of the operation of the club. Along with board positions we need parents to fill many roles within our organization including, becoming USA Swim Officials, Administrative Officials/Meet Directors (AO's), Operational Risk Directors (ORD's) and a variety of other roles. We need committee chairpersons for meet timing, meet safety marshals, meet concessions, fund-raising, team apparel, and end-of-season recognition and banquets. We do require families to partiicpate in fundraising activities. We have one major fundraiser in the Fall/Winter Season, Swim-a-thon. We have one major fundraiser in the Spring/Summer.

Our Mission
The Pacers Aquatic Club encourages development of self-discipline and character through thoughtful teaching of swimmers of all ages and abilities. These and other core values are essential to achieve success both in and out of the pool, both as a team and individually. Every athlete is provided with a safe and supportive environment, that is professionally coached, allowing members to become the best versions of themselves and achieve at the highest level through consistent pursuits of excellence.

Our Vision
The Pacers Aquatic Club vision is to create an environment of high standards that can only be achieved through high expectations of our coaches, swimmers, parents and volunteers. What seems extraordinary in other organizations is normal in ours. Our members succeed both in and out of the pool due to the development of strength in mind and body.
